So I need to replace my dd TT... it has to be transverse so I can transplant the 1.8t and 02M 6 speed from the TT into it
Here is my wish list, in order of desire:
1. '88-'91 mk2 Jetta 2 door (its not a coupe, its a 2 door sedan, and anyone who refers to it as a coupe is a dipshit)
2. Corrado G60 (for simplicity sake, SLC need not apply)
3. '88-'92 mk2 GTI (pretty sure the mk2 GTI only ever came in 2 door form, but if not, I only want a 2 door)
4. '85-'87 mk2 Jetta 2 door
5. '88-'92 mk2 Golf 2 door
6. '85-'87 mk2 Golf 2 door
And of course, I will always have a place in my heart for the right Coupe quattro.
And I have always wanted a later (fuel injected) Maserati Biturbo.

Wayyyy too small, and as the kids say, "played". I'm not really a mk1 guy... I had a Scirocco GTI and I hated that thing from the moment right after I bought it when it stalled and I couldn't get it restarted. And good thing gas was only 99 cents a gallon back then, because half of what I would pump into the tank ended up on the gas station driveway.

Just remember one thing about these MKIIs. The window rubber is NLA. Ask me how I know.

The mk2 was built in China until just a couple of years ago, so theyre out there - You just have to know where to get them from! Like this enterprising young man:

And there's this guy in the UK

Not so fast. The 4 door gutters are diff then the 2-door. Whats this talk of it not being "coupe"

We were talking about the window seals and the wipes that keep water out of the doors, but, the 4 door gutters can be adapted to 2 door models.
And the 2 door Jetta sedan is not a coupe just like the 4000 5+5 2 door sedan is not a coupe.

Is this written in a stone in a tomb somewhere? Whats the reasoning for it not being a coupe?

Wiki: The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) distinguishes a coupé from a sedan (saloon) primarily by interior volume; SAE standard J1100 defines a coupé as a fixed-roof automobile with less than 33 cubic feet (930 L) of rear interior volume. A car with a greater interior volume is technically a two-door sedan, not a coupé, even if it has only two doors.
Maybe?
Sorry, I don't have a car for you though...

And that's OK, still haven't seen hide nor hair of the 'independent 3rd party appraiser' yet, and we're at day 12 since the loss.
Shitty insurance companies suck and need to be legislated out of existence, and laws governing driving without insurance need to have some teeth. So you dont want to pay for insurance from a company that actually does what they are supposed to? That's too bad, you can't drive then. Oh, got caught driving without insurance? That's reckless endangerment, trespassing, failure to maintain insurance... the punishment? Asset forfeiture (arresting municipality now owns your vehicle), and mandatory 30 days in jail plus fines.
