Man, this thread needs an update. Unfortunately a lot of the images I had posted through tapatalk that were using Imageshack are gone. Ugh.

Re: 07k main bearings
There is a stamping on the block that shows what color(Size) bearings it requires. I've just been re-using the OEM bearings, they are almost always in very good shape.
But instead of doing this dance, it may be worth doing studs, and a line hone done to fit a standard size bearing.

Re: '84 Audi Coupe Gt grp2
I had the same problem welding my roll bar! I'd do 90% of the joint, then hit a spot that just would not weld. Took lots of passes with the TIG before I was happy with it. I figured it was also the lube on the inside of the bar. Which was really hard to clean out.

Man, those bores look nice. Perfect candidate for drop in Mahle Power Packs. Unless you are going over bore, with a proper torque plate, I would not touch the bores.

Dude, you are a machine. Glad to hear it fixed the problem. I think most other sub-humans would have just ordered a smaller turbo.

Re: B3 90Q 07k
Remove the valve from the equation. Connect the lower port of the WG directly to the compressor housing and leave the top vented to atmosphere.
Then definitely try it without the spring. Springs are relative, the same spring may make 10psi on one motor, and 15 psi on another high flowing motor ...

Re: B3 90Q 07k
Stock bottom end and compression or did you stack dome gaskets? I still find it hard to believe that WG can't flow enough. It would be interesting to see a log with RPM, timing, manifold pressure and turbo shaft speed to plot against the compressor map. Let's see a screenshot of your timing map

Re: quattrobros twincharged audi 90
I bought an old 80 quattro at the junkyard that they had for sale in the front for some reason. Sign said has rod knock. I took it for a spin around the parking lot, checked the oil, nothing. Bone dry. Put in my spare 2 quarts of oil from my trunk and it ran like a sewing machine for years. I went ...

Re: B3 90Q 07k
I seem to recall the fronts are connected to the "rear ports" because they are often lower than the fronts. If you were to run low on fluid for an example, the rears would go before the fronts which is better than the other way around. Or something like that.

Re: eS2 evolution
Just spent some time looking through this, very nice work. Love the attention to the wiring, very inspiring. I would definitely do bulkhead connectors. Not only do they make removing the harness/engine easy, it makes changing ECU's much easier down the road. Just redo the in-car portion and you are ...

Best to replace it all with new while you are in there. They can be quite noisy if you re-use the old parts.

Re: The 90Q (07k?)
Pat, It may work for you now, but it's not a good long term solution. The 07k is super simple, but it all starts with #1 being closest to the timing chains. That's #1, you have to ignore its position relative to the crank pulley. Here is the procedure.
1. Set engine at TDC for #!, install crank ...

Re: The 90Q (07k?)
Now I see where the confusion comes from. That pic with the cyl #s should have #5 as #1. Is that from a factory manual? Who references TDC of a motor on a piston different than #1??

Re: The 90Q (07k?)
Getting closer. You are probably firing #1 at the wrong time. Also, any reason why you are using a stepper output? I'm not sure it matters, but that would drive me nuts

Pat, just sent you my config via FB Messenger, the secondary trigger is the same as above. I think you can use the filtering to ignore the other pulses on the Cam, 168 reflects this from

I would covid hug you right now. This is the one thing I hate about my car, these pedals were not made for size 14 shoes. It's better with driving shoes on right now. Plus I really want to go DBW, very inspiring!
