Thanks to all who helped.

Hi Guys

Heading to Ohio next Thursday for the Ohio Mile. First time to run the car since the record year in 2012 with all the rain and salt problems.

Just wanted to sincerely thank again all that contributed through the Go Fund Me account last year when we had to buy our 1200 dollar drive shaft ...

New Option - Complete Re Man Hot Rod Engines

Just wanted to let folks know I have purchased a number of AAN cylinder heads, cranks and blocks and low wear high quality oil pumps. None of these items are left in the Audi repair parts networks.

I intend to build up a couple of 700 HP capable 3/4 block and head assemblies with the usual hardware ...

Bonneville 2015 Update - FRP

Hey All,

I am sure most of you have herd the depressing news that Speed Week 2015 was cancelled due to over mining of salt from flats. There was a huge exposed mud flow where the courses are normally set up.

It is undetermined at this point if there will be any way to salvage the fall World Finals ...

Bullet Proof Engine Part 4

Oil Pumps, Pans and Crank Dampers.
This will be a short and easy post as it is a very straight forward part of the engine.

Oil pumps should always be disassembled and internal clearances and condition verified. Pumps can be perfect with very high miles or very imperfect at only moderate mileage ...

Re: Introducing new FRP/Wiseco E85 and Race Gas Piston

Just corrected typo on wrist pin length. 1.995 is the correct figure.

Pistons have a bevel at the top but the stock chamber overhangs the bore considerably on the sides and a little behind the exhaust valves. This varies slightly from head to head. Best practice, if you want to do the work yourself ...

Re: Introducing new FRP/Wiseco E85 and Race Gas Piston

Stock chamber volume is 45 to 46 cc's. These pistons have a positive deck height that requires that the
chamber be opened to the bore size. When doing this mod it is really smart to just go ahead and un - shroud around the valves as this is a substantial benefit to low and mid lift flow. The MLS ...

Hi to all and please don't die of shock BC I am getting back to this so quickly! Promised I would !

In this installment we will build the lower end. This will be a little lengthy because it is so easy to make seemingly small mistakes that end up causing big problems or outright failure.

We have ...

Re: Blocking off 5cyl crank vent.

Dear Carl

You don't want to plug the case vent - ever. The pressure is there from combustion pressure getting past the rings. It must be vented. You need a catch can with an oil vapor separator. 034 and others sell several of them.

Re: Chris' 200 20v Revver Project

That's awesome. What you are after with the model makes total sense to me now. Certainly the maximum BMEP force is at or near its maximum at 13 to 15 degrees after top dead center - IF the ignition timing is correct for the octane / burn speed of the fuel being used.

However the piston "weighs ...

Unless these models have values for dynamic combustion forces I think they are of somewhat limited benefit. When factory engineers set up a balancing paradigm they factor in the ...

Re: Lifter Research Findings - Final

Regarding lifter orientation within the lifter bore : They rotate constantly within the bore. Lobes are slightly offset and the lobe face has about .0005 of camber grind which works with the offset to insure they rotate. Hence no wear pattern. Bazzillions of lobe cycles spread over zillions of ...
