Re: Eric's V8 CQ
Another necro-bump. This car is going to a new home later this afternoon. Owner runs a high-end shop out East, so I am confident he will get everything sorted on the car that I don't have the time and energy to do. 6spd is staying behind to be installed in 000292, along with an ABZ V8 that I've ...

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
Not even sure what to say, other than I hope you keep the S6++ (because it's more than an S6+) in your garage as long as you can. The 5.2L is a pretty special engine. One of the last great engines.

I just noticed you mentioned Raychem. That is some seriously nice stuff. Typically MIL-Spec/MIL-STD stuff, arguably the best out there. Do you have an Aerospace background by chance?

Has Hank seen this? Seems like this should be his next swap project, kinda goes with his R8 shop projects.
But Joel, this is pretty freaking cool.

Re: Eric's V8 CQ
necro-bump... I found output flanges, so now I just need a new prop-shaft and either to modify the linkage or get the S2 parts.

Re: Audi 80 B4 Quattro sedan with a V8 engine :)
How is the cooling system working out with the stock B4 radiator? What fans are you running? I'm trying to get a more space friendly cooling package figured out on the Coupe (S2 "nose job"). I want to run my H1/H1 headlamps with out having to cut them in order to fit with the radiator currently ...

Re: URS6 + 4.2T ADDING THE BOOST!!
Now would that be considered up badging or down badging? Word is that ARF's are solid now and we can start turning it up. Think of this as a "baseline". I'm almost wanting to leave it where it's at, this has been bullet proof thus far, it's not even breaking a sweat.

Re: URS6 + 4.2T ADDING THE BOOST!!
I might have a 100 booster sitting in my garage...Not sure what all you need to do that, but if I do have it, you pick up the shipping and it cleans at least one part out of my garage.

Re: URS6 + 4.2T ADDING THE BOOST!!
Joel, there are some easy upgrades for the front brakes, I'd highly recommend getting something on there sooner than later. Worst feeling is out-driving the brakes and really needing them. BTDT.

Understatement of the year, Dana! I remember thinking my CQ would be done years ago. It's not. Two kids and a dog later...dana wrote:congrats man! life will change for sure, you may find project move much slower, and shop time is in much shorter increments, but its totally worth it.

Street car was known only as a Sport quattro. S1 was a version of the rally car, as you stated.

Re: URS6 + 4.2T Getting Them Breakin Miles
I need to find the money tree again and finish getting parts for the 6spd swap in my CQ, then put a couple small turbos on the 4.2. Won't take much boost, since the car doesn't weigh much more than 3100lbs.

Re: Searching for the perfect idle #DailyDriver
This is super old, I realize that, but what throttle are you running that doesn't have an idle set screw? I thought all of the 2.3L engines had them, and most of the 2.2L as well for that matter.

Shawn, which VEMS version are you running? I've got an ABH with ABZ parts, so I'd be curious to see how your file compares to mine.

Yes it does. My friend with the 5.0 Coyote Mustang (headers, cat delete, etc) likes it almost as much as his car. One can hear either of the cars from about a mile away, not joking.

So, I need to call the yard first thing in the morning. I figured out that the diff has 108mm drive flanges, not 100mm. Don't need those.
