Re: Sebastian's '93 UrS4 SMURFETTE85 - Motor Burning Oil
It's not detonation. Car still pulls cleanly. Prob worth mentioning wills car smokes kinda like mine. I'm leaning towards turbo seal dumping it right into the exhaust but will have a little more time this wknd to see what the plugs look like, do a leak down test, and see if there's any oil in the ...

Re: Sebastian's '93 UrS4 SMURFETTE85 - Motor Burning Oil
Well I notice the motor smoking after taking off from an idle or cold start. I have my suspicions but will try to keep from jinxing myself. Burned more than a quart in 700 miles. Running 5w40 rotella ATM. Not my usual Amsoil blend but that shouldn't make a difference on a new motor.

Anybody ever see steel based intercooler piping?
I'm trying to limit the number of silicone couplers now that I'm running higher boost but I don't have the ability to weld aluminum (no tig and not gonna bother trying it on the mig)

Made good progress on the exhaust cutout in my post BBQ stupor
The piece that routes to the valve is all welded. Just need to fab the pipe that will bolt to the exiting side of the valve and weld a flange&tip on.
Then it's just finding I home for the switch and this is one less thing on the list ...

Seb, why didn't you hack the mainframe and re write the java scrip using HTML format in C:\\. THat baud rate would have matched the internal server and give you enough bits to host your vid. HTH

I can feel an E85 tune in my near future..... the only difference on your setup is the polished/ported/oversize head right? No milled out hot side or anything?
If the head is the only difference it would be interesting to see what the difference would be.

Recommended oil for first engine start/break-in?
First start should be tuesday...will be using the moto man method but curious what weight oil folks recommend. I usually run 5w-40 amsoil but obviously will not be using synthetic for the first thousand miles or so.
