Re: Alex G's URS6 AAN K24-7400 build
I finally got my tune dialed in on my 200 running the 7400, I love the setup. Drives like stock but pulls like crazy. I think a billet wheel is in my future...

Re: Eli's 200 20v Avant, S200 R?
Just some minor bending of the oil and water lines but that was pretty minor. So far I like the turbo, I haven't gotten it fully tuned yet as I decided to hold off on Dyno time till I get he head rebuilt, it's starting to smoke pretty bad.

Re: Eli's 200 20v Avant, S200 R?
Well dyno time is being postponed until I can do the head on this slut, starting to smoke a bit again so I'll be doing a valve job soon, but not till after the 90q is drivable I'd imagine.

Also for just getting deposits off 0000 steel wool works great, commonly recommended from detailers and whatnot. Just buff dry then clean with glass cleaner and a microfiber.

Re: Eli's 90tq budget build
Did a little work today, finished up some welding on the turbo and manifold and started getting the lines sorted. Probably need to take a couple inches out of the drain line, feed line worked out nicely (used a 12mm to -3 banjo fitting, a -3 to -4 adapter, an aeroquip 22" -4 brake line, and a -4 to ...

Re: Custom intake manifolds
Well I'm actually leaning towards modding the AAN manifold for now and building a dual plenum.
This page has some info about dual plenum designed and some Audi sport manifolds
m
I'm thinking 4" main plenum with a 3" tapered plenum, if I can make it fit. The Aan 1 and 5 runners aren't in the same ...

Custom intake manifolds
I'm looking at building a manifold for my AAN swap. I suppose I could use the 3B manifold and 7a valve covers I have, but I'd rather avoid a cross pipe setup if possible. I could also buy a Wagner or efi express forward facing manifold, but that's not in the budget. What I do have is a couple of ...

Re: Eli's 90tq budget build
It's no problem, if I could run a b4 rear I probably would, I had just thought they were pretty dramatically different. The front is all interchangeable, but the rear struts bolt to the side of the wheel well instead of passing through the top.

Re: Eli's 90tq budget build
B4 suspension in a b3? Are you cutting the rear half of the b4 off and welding it to he b3? As far as I know everything from the subframe mounts to the strut mounts is different

Re: Eli's 90tq budget build
I mean, I'm sure it's possible with enough fab work but they're definitely not a bolt in affair. For one you've got the gas tank issue... Also the rear suspension is totally different. B4 is about the same as B5 in the rear.

Re: Eli's 90tq budget build
It definitely needed a bit, I think the NG just blew a headgasket. But it needs a window reg and a new front caliper, and probably a whole bunch of bushings. I'm picking up a beat B4 to steal some bits off of so I'll probably just grab the entire suspension and brakes, then I can do the proper 5 lug ...

Re: Eli's 90tq budget build
I really don't like how everything has kind of drifted over to Facebook. People pay more attention to it but you can't really go back and find old posts and whatnot. Not easily anyways. I like it for buying/selling and getting quick answers to small questions. But the project pad is definitely the ...

Eli's 90tq budget build
I thought I'd start a thread for this car here since I feel like this forum is still somewhat relevant, and likely to provide good feedback.
The backstory is I got the car from a fellow forum goer after it blew up in my home town on its way to Denver. He didn't want to deal with it and it had other ...

Sometimes, seems to depend on ambient temp. Boost DC is near 100%. I actually dropped the boost back down until I can get it properly tuned on a dyno, which hopefully will happen next month.

Nice to see someone else bringing an old avant back to life. Don't give up on it, there's only so much to break... Haha.
I'd go ahead and replace the N75 valve (MAC valve can be had for less than $40 and supposedly works with stock ECU, i'm on VEMS though) and if you can get a hold of a pressure ...

How would you use a bead roller to do the edges? As in a bead roller for adding a bead to piping or are you referring to something else?

I have a bad window reg in my B3, if I could get manual windows for cheap I would. But I'm also gutting the whole car... Otherwise I'd just find a good used reg.

Little update, got the treadstone intercooler in, barely fits. Had to do a little cutting and trimming on a few things, and it tilts down to clear the secondary hood latch
