Re: Andrew's Audi 4kQ 20vt (Sold)

Sorry, I've been out of the game for a bit. (New baby...)

Yes the car sold back in March to a gentleman from Virginia.

Re: Andrew's Audi 4kQ 20vt (For Sale)

The 4000 is for sale! I'll likely regret this... but the car doesn't get nearly enough love anymore. I plan to make a more formal post in the near future.

I might go, but only because it's close to Baltimore and might be worth a laugh...

Re: Andrew's Audi 4kQ 20vt

Great meeting you guys, sorry I had to bail so early. The weather was getting to me, heh.

Awesome seeing this car with my Holset twin wish I could have snagged a ride or gone out for a few pulls though!

Regarding the fuel pressure, I'd reset it to 4bar and retune after, there's no real downside ...

Re: Andrew's Audi 4kQ 20vt

Successful trip down to Carlisle on Saturday. Too bad the weather was so bad... The car ran like a champ even after some last minute wiring changes (accidentally pulled the rad fan wire out of the ecu...).

Speaking of wiring... I've got a charging issue I'm trying to track ...

Re: Carlisle 2016

Hey Guys! Just signed up today. First year. Very excited. I'll be there with the 4000. Any chance somebody might be available to do some quick VEMS tuning while we're there? I've got the HX35's new (larger) hot side on the car finally but I won't have a chance to dial it in or turn up the boost ...

Re: Julian's '91 200 20vt

I did end up using a restrictor on my HX35 with good results, but take that as you will. I'm only running a -10AN drain so I was a little worried about the drain flow. The restrictor was my way of making sure that oil pressure buildup was pre-turbo.
Here's the setup I used for the drain.

K26-6 Holset HX35 Turbine Housing + STR Log Manifold

Anybody have any interest in a K26/6 exhaust housing machined to fit a Holset HX35? I put maybe 500 miles on this setup and made 320/310 at the wheels on 91 and a conservative tune. It's a little too much compressor for the small hot side but it was a blast. I found a deal on a T3 Wagner manifold so ...

Re: anyone here have experience with holset turbos on the AA

I'm running an HX35 with that .63 housing from Tim's Turbos on my 3B'd 4000 right now. With a k26-6 machined hot side the car made 320whp 310tq at 20PSI (understandably). I'm expecting bigger things from the new setup. Probably won't be able to afford to get it on the dyno again for awhile though.

Re: Andrew's Audi 4kQ 20vt

Got the intake plumbed up. New Iroz Fuel rail installed. New AFPR from Aeromotive. Took the car around the block a few times for the first time in two months. Running well. Having dash issues otherwise I'd have done a full pull. This thing lags like crazy. I knew there would be a difference between ...

Re: Andrew's Audi 4kQ 20vt

Glad to see you make it over here Andrew!

For the tablet, I'd try an anti-glare screen protector. Might dull the colors a bit, but will make it easier to read during the day.

That's the plan! With it shrouded under the original gauge hood, the glare is minimal. Certain angles are still ...

Re: Andrew's Audi 4kQ 20vt

Since switching to VEMS the dash has always been a bit suspect. Specifically the tach with intermittent and I don't trust most of the gauges anymore. I've had the idea to install a VEMS display for awhile now. Decided to pull the trigger. I purchased an HP Stream 7 windows 8 tablet last week and got ...

Andrew's Audi 4kQ 20vt (For Sale)

Hey All, This seems to be where all the cool kids are hanging out nowadays. Some of you might recognize this car from MG. Original 20v swap done by Tim Sias back in NH. I've got some updates for 2015 so I'm picking the project thread up here.

Since Purchase:
1. 3" Turbo Back Exhaust
2. Rods (New ...
