The good, 118k on the chassis.
The bad, it needs paint work and an AWM engine was swapped at some point, so now I have to install the proper AYS back into the car.

I'm still trying to figure out why youtube links won't embed in the post :(

I'll update more later.

Always loved these. Any plans with it post getting it running or just back on the road as a luxo cruiser?

Lots of plans trying to figure out why YouTube videos won't embed.

I'll update the upgrades in the next few days.

Congrats on picking up the S8 and saving it. You don't see many of these cars in project threads. So it's nice to see something different. What's the story behind it? Looks like it was pulled out the mud?

I think to embed the YouTube video, you need to click on the youtube tab and enter in the link.

Well, youtube link appear to be broken here :(

I'm going to likely use motorgeek as they embed as they should.

The link is : https://www.motorgeek.com/threads/2003-s8-restoration-thread.219834/

I see you got one to embed here.

Nobody really uses mg especially since they switched to the new software. I really hate the new software.

I always dream of picking one of these up, manual swapping it and driving it daily. Probably won't ever happen. For now I'll just have to live through your build!

Things have changed quite a bit...

A neighbor backed into this car, and I ended up buying a much cleaner car.
But, I called my buddy Jeremy B. offered him the car at a stupid low price..
And he took on this project. It came out very nice.

He was able to use the engine from my '01 hail car and build this into a very respectable car.

Here's 1 before pic, an after, and photos of the progress.

Here's the day he took it home..

And work commenced immediately.

It now runs and drives great! He drove it to work for 6 weeks to finish ironing the kinks out..
His son flew in and took delivery of a well sorted d2 s8.

Now, I also found quite the gem, another 2003 S8 that had been meticulously looked after.
It had a couple small leaks which I dealt with immediately..

Here it is, more in the next post
