looks like there is quite a lot to do to make that work. what it would do is repurpose the serial interface that is currently used for the GPS feature in vems, but its currently RX only.

What you *can* do, is take your current serial setup you are using for your AIM, remove the TX pin, and 't' the ground and RX, wired to this bluetooth module. that will allow two AIM stream devices to talk at the same time without messing up the stream. For instance for your MXL and an android display simultaneous.

Now that would work. It would just be a matter of alternating Bluetooth duty between a laptop and the android device to tune right?

yes.

There is a possibility you MIGHT be able to get your laptop without switching by giving TX to the bluetooth adapter, and using that to comm with your laptop. you'd have to shut down your android device first, since it only works paired to one device at a time.

I'm interested in this! Will something like http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Rocketfish%26%23153%3B---Micro-Bluetooth-USB-Adapter/8820886.p?id=1207351932175&skuId=8820886 be enough to link with my PC?

Also, how is the connectivity with this? Anyone else running it?

I've been running this and it works very well. I hard wired it so the connection is always there - it's nice to be wireless.

That adapter should work fine if your laptop does not have Bluetooth.

When you say hard wired, are you referring to the usb port you put in the center console, or just the power controls?

power to the bluetooth module.

You can power it via 5v/1A USB port (from your laptop, for example), or it has a small power supply that you can wire to 12v for a permanent install.

You could mount some kind of case with a quick release in the dash, and then you wouldn't have to have it permanently mounted... like how some head unit face plates pop off.

Yeah, easy enough. It'd be cool to have it rise out of the dash :hail:
