So... I bought it with no engine, transmission back in June. Since then I've fitted the 01e to the factory driveshaft, made correct placement mounts, and then began fitting the 2.7 v6. I cut out the frame rails and welded in 1/4" stainless steel plates on either side, boxed them in and that is the engine mount solution (I'd imagine it'd work for a 4.2 as well).
I wanted this to be a cheap, under 10k build so I opted for the proven CX Racing GT35 turbo and wastegate (Worked before in the 4.2t I had in my C4). I built the turbo kit using Sch10 piping and 1/2" flanges for the tri-bolt connections and exhaust flanges. Downpipe is about 3/4" of the way there and will fit under the passengerside axle beautifully. Radiator is factory B5 S4 using factory hoses and a C4 S6 coolant tank and B5 S4 lines; only other lines needed to hook up are for the heatercore... Powersteering lines fall right where the factory pump would sit if you so choose to run one.
That leaves fueling (connecting existing lines coming from the firewall to go into the fuel rail), wiring of the ECU (stock Me7.1 wired as a standalone), and intercooler piping... along with a few other odds and ends to complete.
Interior is all there with doorcards installed since the pictures, and all of the dash parts are in the backseat. The car is fairly clean inside and out with no major rust except for the rear driverside around the tailights (TRUNK FLOOR IS CLEAN). I bought the back half of a clean 4000 which can be grafted if so desired or it can be left as is as I was intending.
$4500 takes everything for it including the extra rear end I have, $4000 without it. Located in Little Egg Harbor, NJ
