Couple of pictures from BBQ. These pictures are nice, but they still do not do the build justice!!! It is factory clean! It makes me embarrassed to even open the hood of my URQ... Crazy amounts of detail work

Nice pictures Hank!! Those must be the pictures Chad took on Sunday? Heck on the third picture down I can see the two chips on the passenger side hood lock area from wrenching!! Nice looking header huh? 8) Thanks for posting them....makes me want to go fix the clutch :frustrated:

look closely. it appears that there is a bracket piece coming up from a bolt hole boss in the back of the head and the t-bolt i bet helps to hold the pipe in place. look REAL CLOSE.

If you look to the left of that clamp you can see a stainless bracket that I made up with a saddle in it to clamp the charge pipe to. It is smaller, with more strength than what a welded on aluminum piece would be and I wanted to be able to adjust the rotation to line up silicone hoses. Most of all I didn't want to ruin a beautifully tigged aluminum piece with my tigging.

Yes, seeing this thing in person is the only way to do it justice. John has set the bar extremely high when it comes to engine bay detail. Get it moving John!!!!

wow, what a great looking bay. What are those plug wires you are running? My oem fit plug wires from 034 sit loosely on my plugs and seems to be causing strange behavior, I would like to try something like you have there.

Man-o-man, you've really set the bar pretty high for those of us trying to catch/ keep up!

Great project, as always.

John, if you are running Magnecor wires, watch for chafing. Mine did and I found arc traces on them. Looks like your #1 wire is already on the valve cover...But that bay looks wonderful.

Thanks for all the support guys. It looks nice, but not being able to go tune and put miles on it until I figure out the clutch situation makes it seem unfinished somehow. For those of you that aren't following the BBQ thread, we got it running on Friday evening late to try to go for the Saturday event drive. The car was let down off the jacks, started and put in gear, but when I let out the clutch the car never moved an inch. :frustrated: Obviously I have mismatched parts that need to be sorted out.

Renee is warming to the car to the point that she was going to be a trooper and run to the mountains with me that day even though I hadn't charged the A/C yet. Pete, I call that progress even if she still hasn't noticed the plates. :o

Here is the link for the plugwires. I had originally figured I would use 7A wires, but they wouldn't fit on the coils, so I thought that I would try to reboot the distributor end of the wires, but was having a hard time finding 7mm ends. In the end I opted for a 8.5mm V8 set that looked like it would work. I would rather have plug ends that filled the valve cover holes and didn't require pulling on the wires to pull the ends off the sparkplug, but I think these will work. I also would like to find something to fill the gap between the cover holes and wires so they don't touch the cover. We will see.

Those were done by Josh (turbo4Kcar) who had come over to help get the car on the road a few days earlier. As an aircraft tech, he looked at my wires, my red zipties, and asked if he could play with the wires. I told him to have at it and that is what I ended up with. I like it. Thanks Josh. :D

Funny, but true. 8) No I have been working and trying to catch up on sleep. Everytime I go out to look at the car, I end up turning around without even getting the jack out. Maybe today.

 That's what it might take. I have stepped back a bit to catch my breath and try to catch up on paying for all the new parts while I look for motivation again. I'm starting to get past the walking out in the garage and just getting bummed and turning around and going back into the house. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting closer.

Sean did you come by and knock on the garage door? I've been working a lot of nights and sleeping during the day so I might have missed you by just not being awake. Ring the doorbell next time.

I didn't stop by since I didn't hear back while I was over in that area. Im in NorCal thru Sunday so I wont be getting much done myself one more weekend.

I'd like for us UrQ guys in town to go for a lil' fun run sometime before the holidays if that helps the motivation level at all ;o]
