Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Cams sale fell through unfortunately. Seller said that they looked questionable and refunded my money.
A little update, I think my PS pump is on it's way out. Starting to make some crazy noises so I plan on changing that out in the near future. Other then that, car has been running flawless.

AMD's 91 200q Project
Changed the oil today and replaced a torn axle boot. Trying out a new oil, Valvoline VR1. I plan on having it tested after 3000 miles or so.
Tomorrow I'm looking into the powersteering pump.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
So, I thought it was my power steering pump that was creating these strange noises however it tuned out to be yet ANOTHER bad alternator. Got another one today, hopefully it lasts lol. Solved the noises though.

Got a few new lenses so I decided to use the 200 as my test specimen today. The results are as follows:

If you go to the album here: https://picasaweb.google.com/1072863826 ... directlink you can view the info.

Ah I thought it might have been Picasa. I have the firefox plugin where you can view EXIF data with a right click...never works on your photos tho :x

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Pretty hard to distinguish the 85 from the 135. It's obvious when you're shooting at f/1.2 but otherwise they are damn close. I think the 135 is gonna be my next lens...they're "cheap" compared to some of the other L lenses too.

I feel ya. What always makes me scratch my head over the "700hp" builds is that people totally ignore the fact that a single plate clutch is nothing but a liability above 500hp. ESPECIALLY with quattro.
More people need to bite the bullet and get multiplate clutches and we would not have to hear about "clutch slipping" all the time - which we do. The Supra guys would be nowhere without multiplates.
This is like a PSA or something

I would love to go multiplate however it's just not worth it with the 016 and to be honest I hate the 01E in comparison. This puts me in a pickle, lol. I've rebuilt my S4's 01E too many times to want to put one in the 200 also and deal with the same issues. I'll just need a dogbox gearset to go along with the 01E swap and multi-plate. If money were just endless...

I feel ya there, too, lol.
I don't know why they cant make a stiffer pressure plate. I have a spec stage2+ and it feels lighter than stock. Why not make a PP that requires some real effort?
Also, what's the capability of the 01E upgrades from Scott at Advanced?
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Multi-plate clutches really aren't necessary unless you are hard launching the car often. They are uber expensive and if you are abusing the drivetrain like that you are going to need to dump a shitload of cash into the trans as well. You can get single-plate clutches rated to 900 ft/lbs, with uber-high clamp pressure plates, but you have to convert to a 7A style setup. None of the "stock-fitment" 01E clutch kits have nearly as much clamping force, even the stage 5 southbend kit has a nice light pedal.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
I like the 85 and 50, it's the right amount between being too flat (the 135) and too wide (35) - I usually shoot with a 1.8 50 on my d90, which is something close to actually being 70-75mm with the sensor crop (i think, don't quote me on that)
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Yeah, the 50 1.8 is awesome for a budget lens. I have it on my camera all the time.
