You can specify, perhaps a silly question, but can not anyone help me how I can put a damper on the car?

Not much of an update to the 200 just yer but I wanted to share our new friend. We just picked up our new puppy this past Saturday and I'm super excited to share him! It's been years since I've had a pup. Meet Quattro the Alaskan Malamute:

Nick, since the beast is out of hibernation, will you please indulge us and show what the rear BBS RS-GT wheels/tires look like on the front of your 200?

woot woot. Now that I think about it, the swap into the 200 won't be that bad.

Oh, just realizing that hte urS and the 200 share shifter bases. The 200 swap will be almost identical to the URQ/4000 swap, with the exception of the axle issues in the URQ, where the 200 will probably just use urS axles. It isn't too hard to just shorten the urS axles if needs be too.

I did some rough measurements between the 200's 016 and the B5 S4 01E and IIRC the S4's cups were approx .5" wider then the 016 and the 016 was appox .75" longer then the 01E. Bolt spacing on both the axles and propshaft were identical. So maybe with the B5 S4 spacer the length will be close. The CV's may be able to take up the difference maybe?

What about the clutch though? I recall from somewhere, that the B5 S4 disk can be used in the 3B flywheel and PP. What to use for a TOB? Spacer?

If you are using a b5 clutch kit, you have to use the spacer as well. You can just use a 7a clutch with a 7a flywheel though. I do not think a 3b flywheel would work, as it is a bit thinner than the 7a. If someone can measure the complete height of hte 016 200 flywheel(from the crank mating surface) to pressure plate teeth distance, I can do the same with the 7a combo. If they are hte same height, that could be used as well.

Yeah, the width happens on the drivers side, so your passenger side axle will likely still work, it will be the drivers that needs to be shortened 1/2"( more like 3/4). Like I said, you can find an axle that is shorter by chance, or if you want, I can probably just shorten your current axle the needed.

It just dawned on me that you were the guy that busted the input shaft on the 016 torsen. After seeing the launch vids, it makes more sense! lol well done.

I have two spare 016's, a spare 01e 6 speed, a few B5 flywheels, a few B5 clutch kits and a spare 3b flywheel and clutch kit. I'll do some comparisons and take some more measurements.

That's good info on the axles. If it needs to be shortened, then I'll be sending it off to you when the time comes. Now what about the length of the driveshaft? Or just move then whole engine/trans assembly back a bit to make up the difference (if there's enough adjustment).

I did break the 016 input shaft, lol. The car was bone stock though and the clutch was toast. NO IDEA how it broke the input shaft considering the clutch was possibly original! I was out drifting in the snow, caught a dry patch of pavement and the 200 stopped moving. Lol. Only time the car has ever stranded me. Put in a used lower mileage 016 when I did the 30r and have been piss-pounding it since. No issued until late this season and it's grinding shifting into 5th gear above 70mph. Prob just a syncro.

The 016 works so flawlessly, shifts perfect. I really hate to replace it with the troublesome 01E, but I'm on borrowed time with the 016. lol

Yeah, either scoot the whole drivetrain back, or I have a spacer that sandwiches inbetween the trans and prop shaft to take up the transmission length.

Just need to pull apart my spare 01e and get it rebuilt now. Maybe this weekend I'll tackle that and see what's going on inside it.

When my flywheel trigger ring exploded it took a chunk out of the bell housing. I don't think that'll negatively affect anything though. Lol. Aside form that, It'll probably need syncros and collars. Praying it doesn't need any gears...not cheap!

I agree! It is looking good! Do you think you might have time to try the rear RS-GT's on the front this weekend? Thanks!

that 3794 is doing low 900awhp on the evo crowd, should pilot a t44 deep into the 11's w/o a hiccup

I tend to agree with this choice. I like it because he could get an hta3582 or 86 and then have a swap in turbo that is more street friendly and still makes 600whp. Seems like a no brainer.

AMD's 91 200q Project

Post by amd is the best »

Picked up an other 01E that needs a rebuild. It'll be the trans that will now live in the 200 after upgrading to the new carbon syncros and new 1-2 collar.

Also, I'm thinking Tilton... Sintered iron or Cerametallic? Steel flywheel or aluminum?
