well, i dunno WTF is up.
all i know is it was real hard being @ the track, smelling race gas exhaust, watching friends make pass after pass, and not running.
but the car got showed off, it looked terrific. and i even entered into the showing and won first place for special interest Audi. it was a shoe-in, as there were no other entries
:bashtard:
so it makes rev-dependent ticking. seems like bottom end, back half. louder at times, quieter at other times. i guess when i muster the desire to tear it apart again, i will check into it. BOTI is end of next month. (Battle of the Imports) maybe i try and make that show. who knows.
that said, this car should be a monster when i can finally make some runs in it.
but i want to take a break from it at the same time.... (he says as he goes out to the garage to start tearing it down AGAIN). lol

Are you sure it's not your clutch/flywheel? Does it go away when you push in the clutch?
Mine makes a lot of ticking noises, until I push the clutch in (Spec 3+ with aluminum flywheel).
I've heard many people comment that their clutch is a lot noisier at idle with an aluminum flywheel.

lol
car looks amazing. I sure hope you get a magazine feature. The car definitely deserves it! I would take pride in seeing a fellow MG'er in a mag
I'm still working through my issues too. Luckily it seems we have made some progress...Keep it up.

took off VC, turbo, rad.
nothing out of the ordinary. all lifters are cycling just fine. oil is coming up to the head while cranking.
tomorrow maybe manifolds and head come off.
then next day block come out.
i think the first pull did it, really. 45 psi by 6400 rpm spiked hard. ECU logged 410 kpa @ ~6k rpm. made 561 AWHP and 456 WTQ like instantly. let off the throttle ASAFP but still it went sky high. blew the boost reference line to the ECU right off.
i think i may have bent #4 rod or something, its low and back sounding. but so far, the head looks brand new as yet.
the good stuff is that we are only @ 72% injector duty cycle so far with 592 AWHP. and only with 22.5 degrees timing, too. so its not like it is out of this world mapping.... fuel is right where we want it to be....

and while tuning on the dyno, i have a separate bung for the dyno WB sensor. no pipe sniffer action here. and they were veeeerry close to each other fueling wise.
if i were back on a Dyno Dynamics dyno, i could just use the dyno WB output (as it is an Autronic wideband OEM) to feed the ECU directly with the same signal for both the ECU and the dyno. that allows Auto-tune feature as well. i did that last year with the rabbit, until i tried to hold 5k rpm it skyrocketed from boost... LOL.

My buddy was between that NGK and the AEM and went with AEM, he seems to like it.
whats the difference between the 2?

The NTK also uses the bosch sensor, but since the product carries the NTK name, the bosch-ness of the sensor is laser marked off.Mcstiff wrote:Other then the obvious shape difference; The AEM can display Lambda and sues a Bosch sensor. I like Lambda display because I will be running E85 and there are less conversions to do.Justin517 wrote:whats the difference between the 2?
You'd think with NTK in the name, they would use an NTK sensor but this is not the case. The NTK UEGO sensor costs too much for that market niche.
I've never played with an AEM, but the NTK meters are pretty low quality.
Many Ive seen have gone south in a lab environment.
