I'll be stealing that downpipe idea!! Love the exhaust and suspension set-up. Good work

Great job on the exhaust Casey, she will probably drone like a mofo but it's all ears when you open her up. My early gen stromung on my silver avant is a hollow cat to the rear stromung with some type of middle resonator that is pretty much a blank because it doesn't do anything. The later generations are much different. Anyways, great progress man, keep it up and your gonna make Carlisle. I've got a set of new tips for my 034 exhaust on my europa avant that I need to weld on. Can you suggest a welder? I don't know anyone around here and I'm in Champlain NY across the lake from you. BTW it's on vems and the base tune sucks...I mean it's no fun. Later dude, great build

Thanks! Yea I was more concerned with WOT sound than drone 8) Tom Rittenburg is pretty handy with a TIG and he works over here at Rennline. Look them up online!

Tim - Not yet. Car is on the ground but the intake won't be ready until next week probvably. I also sliced my left index finger yesterday with a utility knife, so that's slowing me down and making typing interesting. My first stitches, woo!!

Setting up to move the car out of the shop tomorrow. Anyone have a 3B or AAN downpipe kicking around? I need the wastegate flex pipe and flanges and the 90 degree bend into the down pipe to use on mine...

You could always install an electric exhaust cutout and bypass the exhaust entirely whenever you want.

Now we're well into May and the car isn't quite finished (oh well) but I'm still shooting for Carlisle. I have moved the car once again to a new location to work on it since my garage is no longer available (again) and I've been plugging away at small items which aren't much to look at. In the mean time, here's some teaser action from Hank

How does that work with the radiator? I'd love something like that but never thought it would package. Or, do you just put in a shorter core to clear the intake tubing?

I think he is using a shorter core so that there is more room. Now that I have this one made though, I think you could sneak it over the top of the PS pump in the stock location without a lot of problem. Most of the issue is with the clearance of the hood, becasue of the low slung hood in the type 44. This intake is no taller than the AAN valve cover, so I am hoping he won't have to lower anything to get it to fit.

Yep, using a shorter core, but 3" thick. I'm pretty convinced that it's not worth trying with the stock radiator - would probably need a thin oval like inlet to the IM

Yes, the thin oval is what I would recommend coming into the IM. Kindof a pain, but doable.

Packed up and out to the truck!! I hope I made the drop off in time. I forgot the modded water manifold and had to run back and swoop it up.
