Loxxrider's 200 20v Revver: See you on "The Project Pad"
So would it be my best bet to just get some G60 struts before I do anything?
Then I can use any brakes that will work on G60 housings?
And I can get any struts that would work on anything g-60 equipped?

give you ideas...
i ran these on my 200 20v avant. My machinist friend built these for his 200 20v...then i picked them up off him when he started to make a 2nd revision for 16's
i sold them to a v8q guy who is still running around on them for 2 years now?
needed 17's
ufo strut...little grinding to clear caliper
330x30 '98 sl500 benz rotor?
'01? 460-500 benz caliper...did not cover full rotor but couldn't tell.
ss lines
during mock up.

when i was selling them(should have painted them :tard:)

comparison to the factory 15

i ended with the 2 version and ran them on my 200 and then my old v8q. tiny has it now allows you to clear with 16's with spacers and thats for sale (with the car) I wish i had photos of that setup but i liked the 1st version better

I am contemplating doing brackets for the V8, which is UFO...I'm going to put my extra 993C2 caliper up for sale to help fund buying calipers. I was going to try and keep the setup to fit under the stock wheels so I can run sticky tires on the Corvette wheels and bad weather tires on the stock wheels.
Thanks guys, for all of your responses. I am excited to design these things. I just need to get my hands dirty in order to really see what I have to make I suppose. For one thing, when using aftermarket struts (or possibly coilovers) what has to be done? This is going to sound stupid...but keep in mind, I haven't touched suspension or brakes AT ALL yet.
Anyway, are the strut housings one in the same with the actual struts?...or are they different? I mean I see where the axle connects to the brakes, etc., but what exactly is the black piece that connects everything together? Is that what the strut "sits in?" If it is, what has to be swapped out in order to go with aftermarket struts, etc.?
Sorry for my lack of knowledge here. I feel dumb, but whatever, this is how I learn.
Now for a few small updates and one more question.
In order to fit some nice sized brakes, I will need some 17's so I have once again gone on the search for my BBS's. My friend once again has said that he will get me a quote today on price. Once he does, I will put in my order. Its just a matter of him getting back to me. I will have to use wobble bolts with them unless I get them filled and then re-drilled. I am fine with the wobble bolts (for non track purposes), but I REALLY want wheel locks for these wheels. I know they will get ripped off otherwise, and you cant get wobble bolts in wheel lock form. Soooo looks like I need to get them filled and redrilled to a proper bolt-pattern. I dont mind really. I really, really want them
Next up...Kevin shipped my SEM setup today
My next question of course stems from that. I'm not ripping into the car until I get home next week, but I would like to know a few things ahead of time. For one, I cant tell where the damn wiring harness is run. I suspect it will be clear once I remove the little rain tray in front of the wind shield. I think I have found where it comes out. It is under the empty bracket up on the firewall on the passenger side, Im not completely sure about this though. I just need to know where the best place to run the ignition harness is going to be. Of course, I can drill a hole if I have to, but I'd rather not.
Aside from that, I think I have everything in line. I just need to unplug the distributor wires, plug in the new ECU, plug in the wideband stuff and run the wire for it, and connect all the coils and plug wires, etc. Then plug the comp in and start her up! There is already a file loaded onto the ECU from a running stock 3b...so it should start right up, and I should be able to drive it to my tuner friend...who is going to teach me a thing or two!!!
I can't wait to learn this stuff.
oh, and then it will be 20psi time
...and antilag flame spitting time haha

I'll most definitely be willing to sell a pair, and I wouldn't be trying to make any money off of it. I can't say when I will be doing them though. That all depends on how the next semester goes. I may not have the time or money to do it here at school.
If/when I do proceed with this, I will post all the details here so that everyone can see and make sure I don't make some sort of stupid design flaw

Ok, so thursday is the day for SEM goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be driving the car up to a friend for help with tuning, and to install it there (just in case we run into "issues."
Anyhow, I would like to know the best way for running a harness in this car. Its just for the coils. I haven't removed the rain tray to look under there, but again, I would just like to know in advance to possibly make my life a little easier when I go to do it.
The other question I have is with the coil bracket...How have you gone about mounting them?
I'm sure I can figure it all out, but it never hurts to make the process smoother.

Well I just got back from installing it. UGH!
What a day. Basically we spent from 3:00 until midnight just getting it to run. (this is the first 3B setup Kevin has worked with, so there were some unforseen issues) Now that its running, it still has some issues that have kept us from doing anything fun with it, although I was able to drive it about 30 miles home.
Kevin was EXTREMELY helpful. I probably spent 4 hours on the phone with him. He will figure out what the issue is tomorrow, and it should be good to go.
All I know is that we hit about 15psi for about half a second and I can tell this thing is going to pull SO hard when its done.
If you guys would like, I can take pics of everything and do a write up of how it was all installed. Its really very simple. There are some things I need to clean up though, like where the coils are mounted and such. Right now, the biggest issue is getting it tuned right.

ok...well we tried to install some new firmware. That didn't go so well, and now I basically cant connect the ECU. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated:
Its now a waiting game for Kevin to find out what needs to be done and relay it to me. Once this has been all sorted out for this car, these problems will no longer exist.
The shittiest part is that I am paying for the time with my tuner here that is being wasted because of mistakes that are NOT on my end.

Ok, so since the 20th, I've been trying to figure out another issue that was stopping us from tuning. It turned out to be a reversed crank trigger.
I was so surprised that the car could run with it reversed. I just figured it wouldnt run at all, but apparently if its reversed in some cars, it will take out timing with higher RPM.
So now we just have to get her tuned! Kevin is making a file for me right now after I sent him a log. I will have it tuned in person as soon as I get the chance, but for now this should work pretty well.

Haha, as soon as possible...but there are still some problems. Every time I get into boost, it hesitates...and its still having a bit of a cut out problem. (in the logs it reads (ECU RESET)...I dont know what the hell is going on lol. BUT I'm learning so much.

I guess this is kinda a good time to update.
There is a lot I have to fix on the car at the moment.
Its currently in what I suppose is limp mode. I only get 1.3-1.4 bar of boost and it sounds like a sort of rev limiter kinda when it hits that. There are a lot of things it could be, but I'm not too concerned right now, I'm just going to get a few new parts and see what happens because it needs some things anyhow.
First of all, its getting a new VC gasket. It definitely needs one. Then its getting a new multi-function temp sensor. I have been seeing very low readings on the temp gauge consistently, and my AC compressor wont come on either. This leads me to believe that sensor has gone bad in some way or another...I could be wrong though. The car also has a pentosin leak (needs a steering rack) but I keep putting that off. It goes through a can of pentosin every few months. I'll probably save that project for spring break if I'm home, or maybe just for the summer.
I'm also going to go though and replace all of the vacuum lines with some silicone asap. Its just for good measure. I may replace some other random sensors along the way, we'll see.
We are still having problems with the ECU. It is randomly shutting off all the time (just for a fraction of a second), and it bucks the car HARD when that happens. Obviously it cant be run in that condition...we think we have ruled out just about everything besides the actual ECU itself. VEMS has just finished making me a second ECU. Its on its way as we speak. I am so hopeful that this will cure the problem. I have a feeling its just a bad solder joint or something like that. We'll see.
One quick question I have...can someone please look at their 200 and tell me which order your crank sensor wires are in? I believe stock configuration is supposed to be red, violet, brown...but it may be violet, red brown. Here is a link for reference. Its really easy to look at, all you have to do is pull the rubber cover back. TIA to anyone that can help!

stock colors on the 3B follow the same basic color scheme on the AAN. Stock is actually red, violet, black (1->3).
FWIW, I test *every* ecu I ship, Kevin should be doing the same...
