"Nah, the color is cute." <--------wife

:) It is true that it looks kindof like the subaru color that all the girls get. I am going to go ahead and say that audi was trying to get girls into the car by offereing oceanic LOL

Hank, I think some bright silver would look good. Something similar to aluminum, or polished aluminum color. Then you can outfit your engine bay with your work and have it all work nicely together.

Champagne silver looks pretty good. My brothers UrQ is like blue/indigo it looks good too. I think white makes them look like junk for some reason.

:stupid: And i love white/black on audi's.......but unless its going to be an audi motorsport theme, i say stay away from white. Black is the color the car was designed in and the color i'd have if i had one. Although, my general love for all audi's tornado, could win out. :P

Hank, paint it Helios and then come down here and beat up on all the punks. That should earn me some mad street cred. You go home and the next time they see my car they just bow down to it saving my license along the way.

Either that, or just go with Port Rose *high 5's Martin*

Like a few years back when someone in the area posted on Vortex that some old white audi was blowing the doors off everything that even tried to run with it on the 215. The guy went on to say that he is there early in the morning and late in the afternoon and that he demanded answers. Wish I could find the link.:D

Sean, with you living so close to the 215 I think that maybe you are on to something. Heck as well as your car runs you and Hank could really have the Las Vegas VW guys confused if Hank were to paint his car Helios.

I will commit to the stop-light beatings if Hank will handle the highway runs - his car has longer legs lol

It would be great to have NLV's finest pull into the driveway only to find a Helios UrQ with a cold engine 8)

I think that is Dave Lawson's Lhasa Green Ur at Steamboat. Lhasa is the Helios of green's - and gorgeous in person...

That is Dave Lawson...and yes, at Steamboat...took that on Tuesday. Lhasa, they told me, but I forgot. Great color that you don't see every day.

I don't much care for green, but I could do that color. That is a good looking color, but might be a bit to dark for Hank.

Dave....nice work finding the link. I laughed again.

Holly poop!! IT's jeff!! They really do come out of the woodwork to rip on aviator grey and chime in!!!!!

I am leaning towards the darker/charcoal grey colors right now.

That green is cool, I just would get sick of it I am afraid. I dont plan on doing the rally colors ever, so I guess that rules out white..

Dave, that is a really funny post on VWVORTEX. I used to take the 215 every day to the LVMS everyday. THere were some really fast cars on that loop on a daily basis.

Yup, Greg's old car was Graphite Metallic. I suggested that one, its a gorgeous color, especially when freshly painted. Would look awesome on a Urq, but black colors seem to be out, correct?

The paint on Greg's car was amazing.

stop talking about paint and fix my bloody bumper and trunk.

much love,

katie

ps. i hate port rose. it reminds me of grandma carol's house.

Sorry Martin, that was my wife...... Port Rose does not appear to be happening in her lifetime.

Jeff, I think that grey may be a little too dark. It would go great with my black interior/quattro script.. I need a better photo!!

According to Martin you can use the 5ktq Output shafts. I have already disassembled a 5ktq Diff and have the parts sitting here waiting to try it. They are the same 130mm cups as the ur though.

I can take more detailed pics if you need. Next step is to disassemble the CQ Tranny I have sitting in the Garage.

Your project is looking Great BTW. Good work. I LOVE that intake.
