Marc's 1990 4.2L V8 Twin Turbo Coupe Quattro
pulled the compression tonight and got some good news on that front, 150-160psi on all cylinders. I also found that a union connection on the drain line from my catch can (that is ultimately t-d into the turbo oil drain on the passenger side) was loose, and it appears thats where my oil was leaking from causing the smoke in the cabin (burning on the passenger side downpipe). Ultimately I need to install a new drain fitting so that I get a better drain for the catch can thats independent of the turbo drain lines. A 4.2 is still on my short list, I just have to find a reasonable deal on one...

Oops, just bought a 4.2. Guess the engine and tranny will be coming out this winter so I'll do the 6 speed swap and 4.2 upgrade at the same time

Holy moly IS that JON from TDC tuning?!(He killed the stoner long hair and the beard) Only reason I'd go to him is cuz he's got the first AWD Dyno in NH. He may be a GOOD engine computer tuner, BUT keep him way from your insides. he will just hand ur work over to his "mechanics" 100% tuning, 100% sucks engine building. Prolly why ur engine is losing 50 HP.
I'm pretty certain I know its the coils causing my power dip. I've got no problems with the guys at TDC.

Some updates today.
Finally got around to installing a working passenger side distributor so I could get away from using wasted spark and perhaps get more stable results at full song. The install turned out to be somewhat difficult for a few reasons.
First up was to hack off the distributor rotor so I could fit a cap over the end:
Next up was dealing with the electrical connector. I had forgotten that its right in the way of my intake pipe.
Luckily I'm well stocked on audi connectors
and JB weld :-D
aaaand
Looking forward to getting down to the dyno day on the 8th to see how it performs compared to the TDC tuning runs.
