Small chassis fuel systems?

Whats everyone doing in terms of fuel when it comes to the gravity fed fuel pumps on the small chassis cars?

Looking to go e85 soon with two 044s. Does anyone know the limits of that feedline from the tank? Ive seen pictures of people running 2 044s or an 044 and a 921(stock) fed with only the stock feedline from the tank.

Heres a picture of of 2 044s with what seems to be a small surge tank that is also gravity fed. Is a lift pump even needed if you were to put a surge tank in this location?

I just dont want to spend time and money on a system thats overkill. Power goals are roughly 450-500 on e85. Currently have stock fuel lines 3b fuel rail and 4bar fpr which all seem to be enough from what people say.

You definitely don't need a surge thank for those power levels. Just dual 044's will work fine. Id recommend staging them though, have the second come on at a pre-set boost level.

Yes i was thinking staged as well. I just have a hard time visualizing how much fuel an engine consumes. Thanks for the input!

Just to be clear that stock rubber hose from a b3 can gravity feed two 044s no problem?

Ive seen oceanic (Ben? i think) run an 044 and 921 anyone know what he has used it up to? Or if that would be good enough rather than buying a second 044?

That works too. 4-500 whp is right on the border of what a single 044 would support. An 044 with a smaller pump that's rated for the same pressures works fine, that's what I used to run, feed by the stock rubber hose.

Quick and dirty ballpark estimate is every horsepower for E85 needs about a pound of fuel per hour, a gallon is 7ish pounds, so 500hp wants roughly 70 gallons per hour or a little over a gallon per minute.

Ballpark estimate means you're within an order of magnitude, just for visualization purposes. I know E85 is not typically 1lb/hp/hr, but we're playing fast with lazy math.

490hp has been done on e85 with one 044 which flows 300lph. 70gph is 264 lph.
