hahah thats effin awesome!!! That sounds like the perfect place for me. Man I really need to get clear corners, etc. for the front of my car. There is a V8 bumper at a local junkyard in pearl....too bad they are so hard to fit apparently. Might still pick it up anyway.

Well don't forget that the V8 has extended frame horns that the other T44's don't. Something like 8" longer frame up front for the bumper/radiator/trans cooler...

I finally got around to modifying the horn contact disk thing so that it would fit to the back of the Nardi wheel hub. While I was in there I discovered the fuse on the relay for the ABS was out so I replaced it and no more idiot light! Here's how the process went:

Removed the mounting plate from the rest of the hub to drill out the spring contact which made room for the lead wire from the contact disk to come through the hub..
Image

Cutting and shaping to fit around the hub..

And it fits well! The horn finally works!....only took me a year to get to it. No adhesives used, it was a snug enough fit to keep itself in place

Some eye candy from today..

is your photobucket account limit reached Casey?

btw, i say go for the v8q bumper... they are sooooo much better looking than the 200 bumpers. on the flip side, i really prefer the 200 grille to the v8q's. i think the early integrated hood/grille portion was kinda clunky and didn't flow well.

Hmm perhaps i have found the limit... Oh wait, i moved the pics  FIXED!

Yea, I like the 200 headlight/grill but not the bumper, and I like the V8 bumper but not the headlight/grill/hood. Time to take the best of both worlds 8) Heading to Force 5 tomorrow to pick up the goods!

here are all the pics if anyone is interested

Made it to Force 5 this morning bright at early - Thank you Chris for everything!

Power steering stopped working on the way there and I knew I was in for some fun..

My steering rack is leaking so I hoped all it would need was fluid, but a fresh bottle only turned the front of my car into a green geyser as fluid poured out of my pump. Luckily this happened in the Force 5 parking lot and was able to get tools and a new X-plug right there. Having done this a few times before I made quick work of the replacement, but nevertheless I was still a bit unhappy.

Another huge thanks to the guy at the shop across the way who happened to be around even though he was closed! Chris left for an auction and I continued to work and found that I needed a 6mm allen to get the job done but was locked out of the Force 5 shop.

Casey,

I think you going to run into a few problems with the bumpe swap. such as mounting brackets, wiring (which is not a problem), and a few other little details.

did you address these concerns when you looked into the bumper swap?

Somebody clever should figure out a way to make adapters to fit V8 bumpers to older type44's.

yessssssss they should.

Maybe I can do that. I still have to get my brake caliper carriers made for a cheap solution for us t44 owners.

Not that making it onto audiworld is a big accomplishment, but it sure does make me feel good that they felt it was worth taking a picture of!

I definitely dropped the ball leaving the passenger side headlight trim drooping....
