Couple more shot of fabbing up the drain line extension. Now i can fab the pass side boost pipe and then onto dp/wg tube.

Re: Photobucket, I recently noticed if you change the view in your album from most recent to oldest you might be able to solve your issue with posting last pics first in your thread.

And I have a question about the routing of your header... been wanting to ask a while now but didn't want to seem negative (it's out of curiosity, not trying to be a dink).

How come there are so many abrupt bends, is it due to space constraints or optimal fitment for the turbo? Looks like cylinders 3 & 5 could be far more simple, perhaps with some rolling offsets instead of 90-into-90. Again, just wondering, as it's tough to tell from the bench engineer's perspective ;)

It's due to space constraints and trying to make what ends up being the long runners all as close to possible in length. Other than that well...thats it lol

Should have the manifold welded up by Ryan tomorrow. Pics/progress to come soon. I not sure if I'll get to work on it tomorrow but the header should be done besides the EGT per cylinder bungs(and collector pre turbo). Unless Ryan is feeling froggy tomorrow. :D

Runner #2 was off a bit on the head flangee, so we fixed that. Should be the last thing to figure. Just needs welding and bungs now. Also got some hella 2000's with covers at a yard sale for 30 bucks. Theyll end up on the 4kq or the URQ, we'll see.

lightweight mod

No its a junk(chewed cam journal) mock up head I got from a motor swap job a car lost the timing on. Strange story actually, the cam sprocket bolt just backed out on the car! There is alot more missing now haha. So we can get around the runners to weld the rest. B big hammer and strategic strikes on the gravel outside made quick work of it. Ill snap pics tonight when I go drop it off for more welding tonight, and pick up the tial 44 adaptor for Roberts car.

Oh also put a mandrel on my drain line so it runs parallel to the frame rail to clear the charge tube. More hammer stories to come, later with pics.

Saw this beauty in person yesterday. The new drain routing looks good. Just a bit more manifold welding and then it's downpipe time!

So i wanted to get the engine back in its real position with a none cut subframe. First problem, no appropriate oil pan. So can i remove the upper oilpan to clear a stock subframe, yes. So i take all bolts in view out and no budge. So I look at my parts motor and theres 4 bolts inside the bell housing left...ugh

So this is what happens when the custom audi parts gnome hasnt finished a pan yet. ;-)
