loxxrider wrote:Well then...that is pretty bad. Very curious to know what its causing that. If its misfiring at idle, sounds like you've got a cylinder down completely for one reason or another. Have you pulled the plug boots up while its running to see if one isn't getting spark?
Yeah, not good at all. I didn't have time to troubleshoot much last night so I can't say for sure. Marc showed me how to test the coil outputs if I need to do that again but the plugs were soaked when I had all of those unsuccessful attempts with the mixed up wires so I'm really hoping that's the case.
best bet for diagnostic purposes, throw it back into distributor mode and see if the misfires are worse, better, or the same. Worse or same = bad wires or plugs. better = bad ls2 coil. Either way if its happening at idle its much easier to diagnose. just unplug injectors one at a time until you find the one that makes no change in engine note. thats your missing cylinder.

Damn I hate being stuck at work when I could be diagnosing the 200! Thanks for the tips Marc. I'll do that if the set of plugs and/or other set of plug wires does not help.
So I went home on my break and found that cylinder one is dead. I pulled the injector harness and no change whatsoever. Unfortunately my time was limited so I couldn't check too much else but it could be coil, injector, ecu or just a bad setting. I did swap the ignition wire and it made no difference. I'm going to check it out when I get out of work.

I found the issue! The injector harness on cylinder 1 fell apart and was not firing. I just need to order another one of those two pin connectors from you and I'll be all set!
I slid the pins on to the injector directly and it runs perfect! I went out and did some tuning and it's running great so far. I'll post a video in a min.
awesome, glad you figured it out. Funny, my cylinder one connector is messed up too. I've got a spare connector laying around for when I get around to it.

Feels pretty good for 185-190kpa (12-13psi of boost)! If no one has noticed yet, I am still running the factory IC . The end-tanks haven't blown off yet and IAT's are surprisingly VERY cool...then again it was 15 degrees last night, lol. IC core has been ordered though.
loxxrider wrote:Sounds awesome man. Its hard to tell from videos, but also seems pretty fast. Very curious to see how our cars compare at different boost levels.
It seems fairly quick! It was spinning in 1st but it was a little slick  . What are you running for boost?
chaloux wrote:It does sound awesome, pretty "strong" sounding
And is that also the stock AAN exhaust manifold?
Thanks . Stock 3B exhaust manifold. Yes. Bolt on (034) K26/GT3076r with .63 a/r exhaust housing. Build full boost around 3400 (@12-13psi anyway).
loxxrider wrote:Right now 21psi. Turbo really seems to turn on at 20 and above. I think you'll see the same.
My laptop died last night when we were ready for more boost. I can't wait to see what she does! Stock IC is going to hate life! 8-10 weeks for the garrett core I ordered. I think you guys will like the IC setup I'm building.
lol maybe get some precautionary straps for that IC if you don't have them already. Mine never blew off at 20psi, but they are supposed to right around there. I think all of my other couplings were too busy blowing off. You doing same side in and out for the IC?

I'll prob strap them in the meantime, good idea.
My idea for the IC is nothing too fancy. Garrett makes a core that's 18X8X3.5 which is almost identical to stock (~16X7.8X4) so my plan is to have the endtanks built to use all factory plumbing and just extend the lower pipe to accommodate for the extra 2" needed. That and I upgraded to all silicone 200 20v boost hoses. There isn't much room for airflow in the front of the 200 other then the grill so any larger core is almost wasted. My idea will keep almost the entire core in airflow and Garrett rates it at 450+ hp (more then enough).
it does sound great. I meant to ask you what you are recording with. I see that its 720p. Good frequency response along the bandwidth on whatever it is as far as sound. I can't get any of my cameras to capture the turbo sound of my Holset :( They don't go high enough in the spectrum. I'm running over to my gf's apartment now to pick up a nice standalone recorder though...hopefully I get some good results with that.

Thanks guys! The in car clip was recorded with my iPhone 4 (720p). Outside clip was my friends iPhone 3GS.
So I went tuning some more tonight and found a problem. It starts getting lean around 18psi and 5000 rpms. I can move the map up and up and nothing happens. I then noticed that the duty cycle was nearing 100%. Only means one thing...NEED MORE FUEL! I'm going to look into an intake 044 setup and also plan to check the voltage at the pump. Might do a hot-wire relay setup to get more volts to the pump. That and maybe some more fuel pressure.
