Still have yet to test that. I have a set of 200 20v Bilsteins in the garage right now, I can test sizes of them as soon as I throw the koni's in.

Some quick calculations show that the ring, when used for the proper application, should require about 2.5" clearance for a sleeve to slide over it... the ID of the proper A1 Racing sleeve is 1.980"

Even using the min section diameter of the ring, it is still bigger than the 1.980" ID of the sleeve so when used in the proper application, the sleeves should NOT be able to slide over the rings. I'm looking on Akron's site now and the part number I quoted in my DIY has changed. Looks like the new number is 1400-200. Other companies may call it 5100-200 or 3100-200. We need some measurements whenever possible. I'd like to see Bilstein groove diameter, shaft diameter, sleeve ID, and snap ring installed OD (min and or max).

These are the koni's i'm getting but not from summit

Hopefully will get those ordered next week. We'll see.

And to add, my buddy ordered some bolt on flares for his datsun 510. We're going to test fit on mine to see how they fit. Talk about exciting :D

Sorry for the late response, I think it's usually 20% off. Not every website participates though. I know Paragon Products does and they can order non-Porsche applications. I'd give them a call to get a quote: http://www.paragon-products.com/default.asp

Aaaaaaand stuff ordered.
Like, a good amount of stuff. I'll update as it comes in.

We test fit the flares and it's gonna be a good amount of work to make them fit, I'm gonna test fit the local guys flares I think cause his I think will work better with the T44 bumpers and fenders.

I also keep forgetting to get a picture of the old Snap rings. Fawk

So. Finally might have some free time soon. Just finished moving in with some friends for the most part. Break ups are fun shit.
Should be able to get these put in this weekend, or at least most of it. Gonna be working on my buddies urs4 to try to get it out of the garage.

7" springs, Koni shocks, helper springs, thrust bearings, spring couplers(whatever you wanna call them), Motor mounts, and energy suspension rear control arm bushings are here.

So many parts. So excite.

So, managed to get the rears done this weekend. The coil sleeves I had previously for my bilstiens were way too small to fit without possibly damaging the shock. I went to summit real quick and picked up some 2inch I.D. coil sleeves because the koni Body is 51mm, which equals 2 inches.
Well they're closer to 2inches and a milimeter. The I.D of these sleeves I bought were about 52mm which is just enough to cause some play. Also causing the coil sleeve to flare out a bit at the bottom after running them for a day or two which is a big no no. Because it will soon then crack the coil sleeve. Which is baaaad news.
Currently considering calling 2bennett and seeing if they'll sell me 2 of their coil sleeves, I'm worried what they're going to charge me for them.

Also got the rear control arms swapped out and installed the energy suspension bushings on the new rear arms we put in. It handles insanely better and smoother just from doing the rears. Can't wait to do the fronts.
Jared also has some strut housings on the way to me that have the steering arm lowered which I'm stoked about.

So yeah. It's getting there. Gotta lower the coils a bit cause it's got about 5 fingers or more of fender gap. But whatever.

You just went to Summit lol, thats nice...

You put the Energy suspension bushings on the front of the rear trap arms?

Haha the west coast warehouse is just here in Sparks. It's really nice. Except their prices are not the best on a LOT of things.
Yeah uh, this mod.

You were able to leave the oe bushing sleeves in?

Jared can get you a Powerflex bushing for the rear mount on the trap arms. I have it and it will fit the spare parts on the bench but I haven't installed it yet.

Why am I struggling to understand what you're talking about.
We removed the OE bushings, and installed the energy bushings. It was pretty simple actually. Didn't even need to sand them down a bit like some people did.

Which rear mount on the arms? there are like, 4 bushings. But only 2 mounts. Can he get the bushing for the mount that I just did? or the one at the rear that goes to the subframe? or one of the other 2? like the toe adjustment one or the bushing that sits in the spindle where the control arm bolts to?

That was confusing to type. I cant imagine how it is to read...

There are 4 bushings in the rear trap arms, the front that mounts the arm to the body, the rear that mounts the arm to the subframe and the 2 that mount to the spindle, one of those having the toe adjustment too. The 2 that mount in the spindle are the same part and I've never seen any upgraded ones but the rear bushing has the same part number as an Rs2 and Powerflex makes one for the Rs2 but doesn't cross it over. The bushing looks to fit the C4 rear subframe and trap arm but it will need to be ground down to clear the subframe as there is interference and it won't go all the way into position. It looks to need 1/4" ground off of the poly on the top edge. The bushing that you linked to is the front mount and I have that too but I took everything out of the cast mount part and am going to fab some spacers out of 6061 tubing to fill the void. If you leave the outer metal sleeves it is said to fit, like you must have done.

I hope that helps ;)

I can get you some pics too if you want.

That makes a whole heck of a lot more sense, haha. So I'll have to speak to Jared about some Rs2 bushings then. Got it. That's awesome that there is a poly bushing for that part, cause the more poly on this thing the happier I am.

I'd imagine we did leave that inner sleeve in, but I'm not certain. We did this over at Jason's house and I was in the driveway working on installing the coils as he worked on putting the bushings into those cast bits, so I'm not certain how far he went. There is a hole on one side of the cast bracket and he was pounding a screwdriver in there to attempt to remove it, and I'm not sure the sleeve would survive a screw driver going through it? Maybe? haha.

Do you have any clue which bushing it is on the rs2 list? or have the part number?

I doubt the outer sleeve survived if he hammered a screwdriver in there. I did the same thing and now my bushing doesn't fit tight or even close to with everything removed.

The Powerflex bushing number is PFR3-206

Here is a bushing I made from poly that is the right size but it will be way cheaper to make aluminum sleeves to fit the Energy suspension bushing correctly.

Well. I let Jason deal with those bushings, so I'm not certain how snug they were. But from what I could tell, they were NOT moving around in the housing. The only thing moving was the brass center sleeve, and that was from me spinning the bracket.

So I dunno...??

I'll keep record of that powerflex P/N and order 2 asap.

FYI those energy bushing only don't fit in the C4 bracket without the original bushings metal sleeves. They fit perfectly tight in the 2 bolt and 3 bolt C3 brackets the later being from a 200 20v or v8q which can be used on the urs4/6. Note that some later build v8q's might have the same large opening as the C4. I discovered this when going to install the bushings on a customers urs4 remedied with the 200 20v bracket.
I still can't understand why the original person who used those bushings insisted upon leaving the metal sleeves from the old bushings in there just not right IMO. But making perfectly fitting bushings from get go makes sense too. I'm sure there's an off the shelf bushing that will fit the C4 bracket just need to measure and find something that will fit.

01e involves a loooootttt of stuff.... Gah.
