Bent roods usually do not knock they will make engine misfire etc. Wiped out rod bearing will knock like hell before piston will hit valves , Aaron like Jim said do a compression test, if some thing is wrong with lower end it will show. ( it will build compression sporadically still getting same nr as rest of them)

I tried this today at lunch with my wife. I was eating my lunch and there was a peach in there. I got to it, and I HATE eating it like an apple, so I asked her is she had a knife. She pointed over to the counter in the lounge and said " it is right over there." I said,"but my hands are sticky." She didnt even ask why they were sticky like I thought she would. She just got up and got me a knife to eat my peach!!! it worked to perfection. It worked even better than I had imagined.

I am going to continue to explore the bounds of this handy tool.

so i got to the bottom of it, sort of.

#3 wrist pin is snapped in half. bushing is toast. skirt is scarred up some on the piston. cant get broken pin out of piston?
