This car is one of the most tastefull 4kq 20vt there is. Thoes wheels with that tire size with just a little streach whould be so hot! Truely keeping ith the German tradition. :woowoo:

Finally Derek, you have some euro-style deep dish wheels! You do realize you're going to have to take a lot of pictures with beer bottles and/or cans sitting on the lip right? I know you don't like beer, so you can pour them out later. You know, for your homies.

i think i'm gonna return this wheel and keep hunting. i inquired about returning it before i bought it, and the seller said yea, no problemo. i just pay the shipping. they look nice enough, but i have a bad feeling about the paint finish. and they are made in china..... *shrugs*

i don't really care for the ASA AR1's, but these AR2's are catching my eye....

http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/attachm ... 1168645858

now that i know i can run a 8.5" wide wheel, i think i would feel better with a 8" wide, et35, and a not so stretched 225/35.

dang it, why aren't there any good old skool wheels out there anymore? i originally wanted to build this car on a set of BBS RC's, but everyone who sells them wants a mint even if they are damaged, or painted... and i don't like the painted finish on them.

what's really funny is that i can buy shoes in like 5 minutes. if it's comfortable and not ORANGE, then i'll buy them. i've been wrestling and hunting for the right wheels for this car for over a year now.

I dunno man, the first two sets looked pretty darnded sweet. I'd be content.
maybe not with the lambo 19's, but both sets of oems compliment the car quite nicely.

The difference between wheels and shoes is that its a much larger investment, and will be with the car a lot longer. It should take more time to buy shoes for the car than for your feet!

Derek you should get those. Think about how easy to clean they would be! Plus then we could hang out and be 5-spoke guys together.

Sean's been a stickler for easy to clean wheels for a long time. i think ever since i changed my mind about only wanting easy to clean wheels, to wheels that have more style and character. but, to each their own. sean has a awesome looking combo on his CQ that gets compliments and looks all the time.

Don't like the ASA's, but I do like the Chineese ones you are returning. It is pretty hard in my opinion finding wheels that compliment a 4000 nicely.

What I like about this car is that it's got the OEM+ theme but now a bid of a "Day 2" flare. I mean like the stuff you would throw at the car in the late 1980's, but since it's got the OEM+ theme you've got the flexability to use a period correct item or a modern wheel with a period feel.

Any thought on these?

Sure being cool isn't often cheap but you have doen a great job on this car. Finding inexpensive wheels you'll like is quite a challenge. God Luck!
