that is a Bosch Motorsports coil with just stock 16v wires. that setup has been tested to 9.4's@159 in another car running Lugtronic. thats with it being dropped numerous times from waist height to the ground, and having a catch can puke all over it, just keeps on keeping on.

yup. tested out here, too, with 9.3's and 153's mph. stock Bosch 16v wires, too, even on CDI running 450 volts / 100 mJ up until 6500 rpm, then 500 volts / 125 mJ until 9500 rpm. running 43.6 psi and 9k+ rpm, with a 9 range plug @ .020 on E-98, spark is strong....

but mine hasnt been puked on or dropped.

shit! i forgot that you joined the coil pack club this season too. so, there ya have it. the fastest Audi in north america, and the fastest true street VW in north america, both run that coil and the same wires.

so, the more driving i do, the more this 4 inch over the rear axle and out seems that its going to be a real motherfucker to make work right.

what are the general thoughts of stepping the piping down to 3 inch right before the rear diff mount and running that all the way back out, cause thatll be cake.

staying together and not vibrating on stuff.

cutting the floor and making a tunnel is currently not an option, not taking the fuel cell out to do that right now. thus the idea to step down to 3 inch from 4, just right before the rear diff mount out the back.

where exactly is it touching? do you have any pics specifically?

id vote for a tighter radius'd 3.5" if you can

The issue is right before going over the axle. At first we had a sleeve made to slide over one pipe, so that it would slide over the other and be able to be band clamped down. Well that didn't really work. Its also super tight right at the end of the subframe.

We discovered the first issue I mentioned last night. Video proof below. Lol

on the rear portion of my 3.5" the over axle is jsut ballpeened ever so smoothly to make the floor a bit taller in that area

the subframe can easily be notched and filled with some plate

Well. Maybe I'll step down from 4 to 3.5 then over the axle. I'll have to see what's available for me to get easily through work tomorrow.

The floor is pretty good. Cv as well. And by good I mean I can fit my hand in there. I'm gonna really look into a 3.5 setup if you say yours fits well, because I even did lots of pounding away at the body metal down there to get the 4 inch to fit so 3.5 would be quite easy to get done I'm thinking.

its a shit ton easier to wire the bosch coil in a harness vs wiring cop.. 3 wires vs 16

i run the bosch coilpack on my 1.9 as well. after dropping the 034 4cyl coil and one of the stupid chevy posts broke off, i never looked back. the bosch coil im using now has been in 4 cars and dropped a couple times no issues

i am growing tired of my exhaust so loud, i am looking into over the axle as well.

on a side note that silver car you posted with the shaved door moldings, i believe has 4" under the subframe and out. if its the same car. the kid was on here at one point.

I'm gonna look back through his build thread today, but I'm pretty sure that was only 3 inch pipe under the frame and out. I looked at that yesterday when the car was on the alignment rack, 4 inch UNDER the subframe, wouldn't work out.
