i actually think i ordered myself a set of the rotors in at work just to have and tinker with when i was seriously going after the brake upgrade, i just never took them home to do anything with them. ill check monday if i still have them there and ill gladly post the part # i ordered through NAPA. and yes, if you have a 90q the way i think i was going to do it was swap the front hubs to CQ hubs, then redrill whatever rotor it was, rs2 brackets, boxster S calipers, done.

Would be good to know if the A8 rotors can be redrilled. In my case it would go onto a B4 though.
One of the 5x112 holes will overlap slightly with one of the 4x108 holes. I guess the superfluous holes should be welded shut.

The A8 rotors can be drilled no problem, BTDT for many years before I went 5 lug. I would not worry about filling the holes, you will never have an issue. Some brake rotors come with 10 holes in them stock. Street/Strip the Boxter and Boxter S/996 calipers are fine, but if you are going to do mean road tracks, then Boxter S calipers will not be enough for that much power. I would look at going to a 996tt because they have significantly larger pads.

ok, so its the A8 rotor as i thought i remembered hearing...just redrilling for the 4 lug pattern. now was there an issue with using the 10 holed ones? not enough meat left somehwhere to drill new holes or something? or were the 10 holed ones THE ones you wanted to get to reddrill?

and honestly, i dont ever see the car seeing a road course. but ill be the first to admit im not the best of drivers and im having enough trouble trying to get it to go as fast as i want in a straight line, lol. so hopefully the 996 non-turbo calipers/boxster S calipers would be sufficient for me drag racing.

Can the Boxster S calipers take the 322mm rotors I linked earlier? IIRC, the Boxster runs 299mm rotors in the front.
Been searching around for these calipers. Apikol sells them for 930, the regular Boxster calipers sell for 730.

i THINK i could muster some faster shifts, im almost afraid to TRY and shift any faster cause i dont want to be putting new synchros in an 01e this winter. i think some more boost will make up for my lack of extremely fast shifting, haha. i put one of those stiffer detent springs in the side of the trans though and the 2-3 is SO much more 'precise' then it was without it, i like. cant wait to get to the track hopefully in this coming week and hammer down.

between this guys DIY detent, and somewhere i posted the solid shift rod ball linkage end that i made with a QA1 bearing and a sleeve, the shifting in your 01E can be solid as solid can be.

ok, heres some specs i got from work to compare. What year BoxsterS calipers were we looking for? :hide:

stock 90Q sedan rotor, with the 276mm brake option/g60 caliper.
Diameter 276mm
Thickness 25mm
Height 51.56mm
Center Hole 68mm

stock A8 rotor, these come up listed to fit the FRONT of an A8
Diameter 323mm
Thickness 30mm
Height 59.68mm
Center Hole 68mm

these are supposed to be a direct bolt on for the CQ, using RS2 brackets and the boxsterS/996 non-turbo calipers. i would assume that you would need to do some sort of spacing of the caliper bracket if you went to put this setup onto a b390q due to the CQ .vs. b390q front hubs being a different offset (at least i was pretty sure of that) i could be wrong though if you have the 90Q sedan that had the 20v in it, maybe those front hubs were the same exact offset as the stock CQ stuff.

20v 90q b3 have hte least offset

20v 90q b3 has more

20v b3 cq has the most

Ok. So then if this rotor/caliper/bracket combo works on a CQ, you'd need to space the bracket some off the strut housing if you're working with a b390q20v. Or, swap to CQ hubs.

The A8 rotors are 314mm. http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis-co ... 21313.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think you got the S8 measurements. http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis-co ... p-578.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
How is the height measured? From outside of disc to top of hat? These discs will bolt up. The 3rd pic has dims. Looks like 58mm offset. http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis-co ... 19608.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Tim, you know the B4 G60 (S2) offset/height?
