- New serp belt tensioner (NOS)
- ARP crank bolt
- Fuel pressure gauge adapter
- VW Fox Steering damper ( NOS)

Old engine is now out. Cleaning up brackets, and the engine bay. Goingvto por15 some more stuff, install a new steering damper and other small things.






Never had to raise the car up or shift it around. Put it on dollys and was able to pull the engine like that. Which ill say im proud of cause alot of people said id have to have it up on jacks.

Awaiting my new rear main seal. Went to get the oil pan.on the other day and the rear main stripped. Ordered a new billet one from Issam. Got the billet coolant T and new set of VC bolts to add to the bling factor.

Once the rear main is in, i can start the remaining assembly and install. The weather took a dive here so its to cold to work outside in the garage now.

We are supposed to warm up a little here... hopefully it warms up there a little as well.

Did you get a B6 A4 1.8t rear main seal?

Improved design and much easier to source.

Going down to -32c this Friday lol.

Engine is in. Time to start getting everything else sorted. Anticipating Easter as a start date.

List of things to do,

Torque Bellhousing bolts
Install started
Install Alternator
Bleed clutch slave
Remove turbo, for DP install.
Install turbo
Clean air filter
Block off coolant lines
Install IM and fuel rail.
Heat wrap fuel filter
Firm up turbo oil lines
Torque crank Bolt.
Install Vems
Install Radiator
Fill with coolant
Double check everything 6 times
Fill with oil.
Panic, and drink beer
Debate selling it
Gain up the strength to turn it over
Realize the battery is disconnected
Reconnect battery
Start car
Pray

Nice work Kenny! Don't forget the steps for connecting the starter trigger to wrong post, panic about having a dead starter, then swapping to the correct post.

Im preparing for vems to not work correctly and have trigger issues lol.

Engine is all buttoned up.

Still left:

- fix intercooler piping
- mount bumper
- fill coolant
- final check of all clamps and bolts
- calibrate Vems WB and TPS
- load base tune on ECU
- drink beer
- sleep
- start car........

Beauty! Looks real good .
Gonna be able to fit any sort of intake in there ? Or maybe a mushroom filter ?

Hey, yes i have a 3.5" 90° boot that just fits in there with a 4in cone KN filter.

Was really close...went to load the tune in Vems today but noticed a small pool of coolant under the car. No worries...figures it was a clamp loose or something... my bad luck turned out to be the water pump Oring that was pinched. Spent all day ripping the front end off and pulling the pump to replace the 50 cent ORing.




And this is how she sits for now, going to see if it leaks over night and try and load the Tune tomorrow.

Good news...the leak has gone away. Looks like were set for start up tomorrow.

I did actually that exact same thing with my engine .
Also forgot the seal under the cam gear once... that sucked .

**UPDATE APR 10th**

The Car does start, which is good. The Tune I have is running a lot more rich then expected, so the car will Idle but not run well. Marc is working with me to get it all sorted out which is great. the car does have a small coolant leak off the nipple on the side of the block for the turbo coolant line, as I'm not using it ill have to figure out a better way of clamping it shut as my current method is not holding up.

other then that, the car starts well, and builds good oil pressure. no big big issues.

Congrats on a great milestone. I’m sure Marc will get it sorted for you.
