well!! today (ok, technically late last night) the UR made the journey on my families infamous flatbed trailer to it's new home in Oregon with my white 4kqt. i took it to DMV and registered it and got new plates and will have a title on the way! the car previously was overheating and spewing out the coolant reservior, so i picked up a new res. cap to see if it would help.. and whatta ya know, that seemed to do the trick. no more spewing coolant, and decent coolant temps

i think i'll do one more flush here soon as it's dirty looking again and i figure it can't hurt. i also had to jump on er' and see what she'd do... and according to the dash gauge and my buttometer, it's pulling 1bar of boost and scoots along very nicely 8)
the front brakes shimmy a little, but it's due to the car sitting and the rotors getting pretty rusty before i got it. so one of these days when i get sick of that, i'll pull em' off and turn em'. the car also runs quite well. it's nice and smooth and quiet.... something i'm defenitely gonna keep in the restoration of it. the 3B i plan to put in will breathe through a 2.5" exhaust and not be roudy, i'll save that for the 4kq. it'll be nice to just have the car get up and move without letting everyone around it know what's going on

as always :pics: :pics: :pics:
the fleet! for once in my life, the majority of the cars i own run and drive (the 200 is just on the edge of getting torn apart).

beauty and the beast

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ......flares.........

well, that's it for now, enjoy!

I'm in the minority, but I like the 4kq more than the Ur. Is the V8 going to be done before the Ur gets any big mods?

i was just talking to my dad the today while i was in the DMV about how i'm really torn between which car i like the best, cause the 4 door is really sexy IMO, but the flares on the UR are really sexy, so the only conclusion i could come to is to build and enjoy both cars 8)
the UR won't get much done to it until the v8 project is largely up and running and bugs flushed out. i need at least one fun car to drive!
and yea, that's my mom's new car, an 03' 530 with the sport package. it's a really nice pewter color and pretty fun to drive. unfortunately it's not a manual, but in the wet when the ASM switched off, it's a hoot to flick around corners

(shh, don't tell my mom

)
my only grip is i can't get comfortable in it with the pedal positioning and steering wheel. the pedals are too close to the seat to sit, so i have to have my arms way stretched out to reach the steering wheel, not like in my 4kq where everything is just about perfect

ultimate driving machine my butt

Yeah, our early Audi's really got the pedal postioning right. It's every other car on the road that's got it wrong. :bashtard:

today i went out to the wrecking yard and snagged a CGT radiator to put in. i think that will cure the overheating problem. yesterday i jumped the rad fan temp switch so it was on all the time and the car still overheated, so i'm guessing it's clogged.
i also nabbed a good taillight and got my hands on a can of VHT nightshades and tinted it 8)

this is with an LED flashlight behind it. we tested it on the car and it's still plenty visable. i'll have to see about at daytime. (p.s. i also found at this time tonight i have no drivers side brake light, good bulb tho, and no indicators front or rear

)

yeah!! my can is now sorta depleted

i stopped by G.I.joes after the junkyard and picked up a can. the clear coat really helps the lense transmit light better than without, plus it gives a nice finish as well.
