Sounds great Derek!! I liked it a bit better when sittin in the car, but then that's always better. You would think that for as far as you drove that you would have been able to find some blue sky somewhere, but I guess not. :(

yes, it does smoke on decel, it goes very rich. it needs some adjustments in that department. But I wouldn't mind some flamage :)

It is also missing. The spark is being blown out with the colder weather. I closed the gap down from .32 to .25 and the miss went from 12ish psi up to 22-25ish psi.

Sounds good Derek. What coils are you using?

Just some 3.0L Toyota Camry coils. I can't remember what my dwell settings are, but I might need to make some adjustments in that department.

AH, I see. I freaking hate tracking ignition misses. Post up your ignition compensation table for dwell.

also be sure to check your plug wires... even swap some stock ones on if you have them. I had MAJOR problems with the ones that 034 and others sell.

here's what I got.

Chris - They are Bosch plug wires with altered coil ends to fit my coils. they fit nice and tight, and I checked them for tracking/shorting, and didn't find anything.

I need to know what your base dwell setting is at, and that is located in the configurations file under ignition...

Hi Derek!

I went through parts of your thread in order to find out whether or not the servotronic rack is more direct than the stock 4k unit, but I didn't quite manage to find a definite answer. Soooo, is it shorter?

Cheers

Unfortunately, the guy who sold me this rack (through a friend in Holland) said it was an S2 rack, which is supposed to be the shorter ratio. But whatever it is, is the normal 3 turns from lock to lock :( The servotronic portion I've found is not really all that useful since it doesn't consider the original pressure to be the "low effort' setting, and then reduce the pressure at driving speed. It's the other way around. The pressure is increased even more for slow speed driving so that you can't even really tell how the wheel it turning. It's like being lifted in the air, it's that easy. Quite amazing, but not what I was looking for.

I've got some new coils to put in, but haven't had time to mess with it. Hopefully here soon... I need moar boost again. I've been limited to the WG spring setting since the new year which is only 16psi or so.

Only 16 psi !!! You may as well have a squirrel under the hood. I sure with all the sitting the car has done there probably has been some squirrels under the hood
Once you get those coils in you should just swing by and take me for a ride.

What coils are you considering? 2.0FSI?
Regarding critters under the hood. Watch out for rats. BTDT. Oh and toads.

yeah, critters under the hood aren't a worry right now for me. The coils are some toyota 3.0L v6 units off a camry. They were cheap, but unknown mileage. they worked fine for a while, but I'm going go back to some MC/3B/7A coils which will take the stock plug ends, and should be strong enough to do the task.

MC coils went in as of 30min ago, ignition miss is history. Man I wish I had done that months ago. 350whp is a freaking riot.

:stupid: Like maybe about 6 months ago? LOL. Glad to hear its back to making all that glorious horsepower.
Now go bolt on that gt35r and get 450whp :woowoo:
