Progress continues, I installed the rear bumper and front bumper covers this weekend. I think it's starting to look come together fairly nicely. Of course I'm still missing loads of trim and have lots left to knock out. It won't be long until I'm driving this beast again! :D

That is all for now.

Bit of a progress update. I've been working on a lot of small details here and there on the car. Finally got more of the external trim pieces installed, like the drip rails and lower window trim pieces. Also, I had the car cut/and buffed to take out any inconsistencies in the clear-coat.While I was working the installing trim, I performed a front Porsche 944 S2 door handle conversion. It took a little bit of doing to get working, but all said and done I'm happy with the results.

Image

Image

Also finished up headlight packaging for the most part, of which took me way longer than expected due to space issues. I also am still working out an effective way to activate the Bi-xenon flap for the projector because the dimmer switch cuts power to the low-beam circuit when the high beam is active. I also don't wait to activate the Xenon bulbs when only the clearance light position is active because I really want to maintain the ability to only turn on the parking light function. During the process, I debated long and hard as to whether or not I should go with an Amber colored parking option, but ultimately decided upon the white parking light.

Final Results:

I also wanted to address some the handling issues I have with the car as it pushes like a total beast in the twisties, so I ordered up some degreed subframe mounts and 6 degree top mounts from AKmotorsport.

Image

Image

Beyond that, I installed a new boost gauge and have been working on some harness issues. I am about two weeks out from having a new engine harness so I can finally lay the signal noise issues that have plagued my build the last year or so.

Here are some pictures from after I finished up the headlights...

That's all for now. :D

Yessir, I run a 4k quattro bar in the back. :) Did that mod a few years back.

That would be awesome!

As for a progress update, I am now deep into wiring up the harness that Marc @ EFIxpress made specific for my car. I am pretty excited to see how it all comes together as I have been fighting ground side signal noise for a very long time.

After this I am shooting to have it clear-bra'd in two weeks and after that it will be getting a new set of tires and my wide-5 wheels installed.

Clear bra detail prep work...

That's it for now.

Such a nice piece. I got one for my car as well from Marc- very nice to have that portion of the job done so cleanly. I like the bulkhead connector too.
Maybe you already have it planned out but here is where I ended up mounting the plugs and breaker.

Looks really good man! I have a pretty good idea of how mine is going to be routed, but if it doesn't work out I will take a close look at yours.

Love that bulkhead connector! If I'd known about them at the time, I would have absolutely had Marc include one in the harness. It's not like a person should really ever need it... but it's nice to have, just in case.

The thing I hate most about this car is how high it sets the bar for my eventual 4kqt :p

But seriously, I love this car.

So, small update guys. I've been working on getting the car ready for Battle Born here at the end of October. I worked on wrapping up the installation of the new harness which turned out to be a much larger task than initially anticipated, only because I had to fix a lot of the front end chassis harness while working in the front clip area.

Image

Image

Image

Also, I installed a new AEM 50-1005 fuel pump for the secondary pump as my 044 seized.

Image

Over the last couple weeks I had clear-bra installed on the front portion of the car and rear fenders to help with paint protection. Here is the car waiting for some clear-bra action. :D

Image

Image

Finally got started on hammering out my base tune for the new harness.

Image

Side note, our first Performante Coupe arrived and I must say I'm in <3 .

Image

So, overall the car is getting pretty close. I'm trying to have my wide 5 wheels powder coated and installed with 245/35R17 Toyo Proxes. Also, need to get the car SMOG'd with new exhaust and tuned. I'm getting down to the wire so I don't know how much more I'm going to be able to get done.

Looks great, glad you had another square vehicle in the shop to offset all those wedges!

I can't wait to see how the new turbo plays on yours man! :guns:

So... got some new wheels!!!!

Also, since these photos I added a 10mm spacer to the rear to give it a more flush look to match the front. Beyond that, I've been hammering out a much of details to get Battle Born ready as I missed last year. :D

Well, unfortunately Oceanic isn't quite online yet in the power department. Its SUPER laggy (turbo doesn't come online until 6k) and my now AWIC charge box is sucking it up. My IATs are worse with the new set up so I have to get that addressed. That being said, we suspect the pressed on cam gear shifted causing timing to go out, thus MEGA lagginess. Visually timing is perfect. I don't have too much time to dig into it before BBQ, but the car is pretty pissed off in terms of making power right now.

GOOD NEWS! Oceanic boost problem fixed!!! I forgot to install the sealing ring for the TIal MVR. :bangshead: LOL At least it's fixed. Moving forward to today, we have found out that my AWIC core SUCKS! My IATS are nuts. So looks like I have to keep it at 30psi until I get a new one. Car was on the Dyno tonight.

lol...

so how much better than 6krpm now? Good job. Too bad about the AWIC core though, that's a pretty big bummer. Are there better/denser cores readily available? I know nothing about AWIC. Can't you just shoot liquid nitrogen or fuckin NOS at it or something like Hap?
