Let's be honest. You don't see most built motors of any sort last this long. They usually have some kind of external failure that causes their death.
My quest is for the biggest power curve on pump gas possible. You can't tell me the 07k isn't ideal for this.
I would agree with you for your build, or if I was trying to set land speed records though.

I'm excited to see what you come up with Jim! Knowing your style, I'm sure it will inspire. That being said, for what you do with the car I think the 07k is going to be ideal, in terms of weight savings, power potential, etc. I can't wait to see it done!

Shoot for the moon!

I have 50K now on my B5 running 30 PSI and over 600 WHP. With the right tune and treatment of the engine you should be putting out some incredible numbers reliably, will be awesome to see what the 07K will do.

Can't wait Jim! Mainly because I want to see what's possible on pump and copy the setup for the 968

It is certainly a good candidate for this assuming you want to stay 5 cylinder (and it'd be blasphemy not to), but you'll be starting from square one. You've done this in the past though with your quest for power. I'm certainly all for progress, so godspeed to you!

Can't help but believe the 07K IS the trackable choice. Pure availability is enough to tip the scale much in its favor over the AAN/7A. Lose an old style head built to compete with a stock 07K in stock form and you are a fair change chunk out. That's not to mention availability. Junk yard AAN's and 7A's aren't growing on trees......07K's comparatively are.

Am I the only one who noticed this thread just passed 100 pages?
Because it did.
Jim I'm glad to have had the chance to ride in your car prior to this happening and can't wait until BBQVI for another ride. Really interested to see how the IM and radiator situation goes.
I didn't see and forgive me if you've already answered, but what ECU are you planning on running with v.07k?

Nick it will be VEMs, hopefully with full PWM vvt.
Ed, that turbo is too small:)

I'm all about that flap, and a v-band, no flange

The AL CHRA is a nice surprise!

Has it been released yet? I seriously considered waiting for it but wanted to go a size up. Plus you still have the t4 flange to deal with. If you don't use gaskets it's no big deal

Wanna buy mine? Its configured for 1.8t, but I am sure you can reconfigure.
It is unused.

one thing that might not be obvious about that new borg integral spool valve is that unlike the sound performance valve where you cannot run a divided manifold (because half the cylinders would be completely blocked off when the valve closes) this one you could, since the flap is just diverting the flow to the other side.....

So then you get the benefits of twin scroll AND variable hotside size. Schwing.

well, not so fast.
the point of divided manifolds is to more efficiently spin the turbine on divided turbos, basically hitting each side of the scroll in perfect sequence to optimize spool. obviously thats not the way a spool valve works.
either way, just means its an option for people that want to use it on a divided manifold.

Nice! You might be able to keep up with me and my 2.6 strocker with CNC head.
