My fuel tank is HOT; Fuel cooling?

Finally managed to find a inside/outside digi thermometer with a wire with sensor. The temp in the trunk next to the tank hit 41C today.
I touched the steel tank and I am sure that it has felt warmer that than. Will report back with more stats.

I think for safety sake I will put the cooling element in the trunk on the return line and run a 12v 4" fan on it. Should bring down the temp of the fuel in the tank some.

Fuel tank surface temp up to 43C (109F) these days. Does that have any influence on E85?

Paul Yaw of Injector Dynamics did some testing a while back on fuel temperature. I don't believe it affected timing much, but it has an effect on fuel mass delivered due to the density change. He also found that once it reaches a certain temperature, the stoich point of the fuel can change quite a bit as you'll boil off the volatile compounds. I'll see if I can dig up his post about it.

Paul Yaw got a reuptation for being a real engineer's tech-geek in the RX-7 community 15-20 years ago with his carburetor and other induction developments.

However, I don't see how the stoich point is going to be changing. Unless he's talking about the fuel boiling in the fuel tank so the volatiles don't even get a chance to make it into the engine in the first place.
