Got some excellent news! Looks like I am picking up ANOTHER EUROVAN MOTOR!!!!!! Only this time for $150!!!

Bringing the other one back and getting my $625 back

Looks like the Dodge will be finished before the end of October!!!!!

Ended up scoring the other eurovan motor for $100. Only difference is it's missing the oil pan, pickup, valve cover, and crank pulley. All easily found.

I believe for ease and availability of parts, I am going to use an MC head vs the eurovan head. This will save me more money in the long run with camshafts, distributors, and timing belts.

On that note, does anyone know of the "wide" pulley the eurovan uses being interchangeable with other VWs? I would like to use that wider style but I'll need an adjustable gear.

Buying some preparation tools. Bought this today brand new and will be buying a piston ring compressor kit and valve spring compressor in the next few months.

I've only been wanting this for the last 4 years. No more borrowing from other people!!!!

Found an unexpected tool yesterday in a Pawn shop. I wasn't planning to buy anything past what I was there to pick up so I took advantage of their interest free lay-a-way program as a way to insure someone else wouldn't nab it before me. Hell it was brand new and never used for less than half price!!!

Picked this up out the door for $130!!! A magna spot stud welder kit (Made in USA) with case and everything. There doesn't even look to be a damn finger print on it! Can't wait to start getting the body looking good for paint over winter.

Those are fun. The heat from welding the stud on will shrink the metal a touch.

Layaway ftw. No interest!

nice buy! I bought one of the HF-vintage ones via ebay. Stud welder worked great, but the slide hammer was a royal POS.

It had a little knurled wheel to hold the studs with that quickly rounded over and prooved to be worthless. ALso, the stopper for the slide hammer broke from light use. With a little welding love, I fixed the stopper and ended up welding a double nut to the end of a set of vice grips to hold onto the studs. Worked like a charm!

Picked up several things today. Picked up the stud welder, a pulley puller for the dodge, and a bunch of misc sockets that have either gone missing or what I needed.

Oh and picked up another Audi. I started a thread for it :)

Disassembled the front strut housings today as I'm throwing the HD bilsteins into the v8q tomorrow after work. I will be purchasing new bilsteins meant for the small chassis and revalved for 350# coil overs. The rear is getting 325# springs so I'm guessing the shocks will be valved the same.

Isn't it normally the stronger springs go in the rear? I know that's how mine are going to be setup. Should help the car stay leveled better over the bumps.
