LMAO that is too funny. For the record I've blown a 20vt rennovated a house, rebuilt the motor and driven it in the time you've taken to aggravate the internet. :D

I did make some small overall changes with how the motor is going to be built. I decided to go with 83mm pistons and not 0 deck the block. The original plan was to build a quench motor with about .045" of quench but that means about .015" of protrusion on the pistons. Since every major engine builder says to keep the fire in the hole, I'm going to do try and get a deck clearance of about .020" (I have to measure with everything installed to determine current deck clearance). With the MLS headgasket and these pistons, that will give me my 10.5:1 compression ratio (this assumes a chamber CC of 31 after deshrouding and polishing).

Once the pistons are ordered, then I'll be ordering a set of 160 mm rods and the machine work will begin. Machine work will include crank lightening, internal balancing, possible oil shedding coat (not set on this yet), block work including line hone with a torque plate, decking (if needed) to achieve the .020" in the hole, oil squirters, HV oil pump from gerner, etc.

It's on blocks awaiting 22" spinnerz, neon lights and a fart can to match the door lights and 20v. And a spoiler. Yo.

I should hope. Don't want all the meaty goodness to fall out

On a good note though, I just SCORED a Snap-on Verus scanner with domestic, euro, and asian software up to 2014 models. Latest update on a Verus with all the cables and accessories the snap-on dealer could find in his truck for....$1500!!!!!!!

I may be opening up a local shop here soon. The only thing I dont have is a lift and a proper building

That sucks about the job. maybe now you will have time to catch up on you orders. I think things will work out just fine in the long term.

Sweet deal on the Verus. We got one about 5 years ago with the fully loaded cart...cost about 10x what you paid. It's made its cost twenty fold or more since. Awesome tool to have.

Well, as I'm sure some of you know by now, I just picked up a job with a local sheet metal company as their mechanic and in house fabricator. I have an entire section of the shop to myself with all the fab equipment I could ever want. Oh and a big ass heavy duty lift. The plan now (since this place actually understands the value of a good employee), is to finish the truck and then start again on this. I've been collecting some parts very slowly over the last year but expect to see some real progress this summer.

Exciting times mwahahahaha
