So how does this work? You wake up one morning and decide if you want to drive the V8 or 4000Q?

Not to mention that the ad states the rims are 5x112..not 5x110..or whatever the TT rims are.

i think the vw's and TT's are 5x100. the earlier passats in the mid 90's were 5x100 IIRC, but the late 90's when they changed bodies, the pattern changed as well. i've seen numerous later passats with benz wheels (amg, carlsson, etc) and they look pretty good IMO :)

Passat = 5x112. Also, the new A3, Golf/Rabbit/Jetta, TT, Passat etc will all be 5x112 from what I have heard and read. They are mixing and matching enough of the suspensions between the two marques that it only makes sense to ditch one of the BC's. Yea for older Audi owners :-)

yesterday te car made it's journey to the modding grounds at my dads shop in sacramento,CA.

leaving home....

sitting in the shop again....

i took the wheels off and rotated them, the rears are almost bald from the slip sliding around with no front sway bar :). and i also cleaned them up real good since i'll be selling them soon.

i also did a bit of measuring looking at lowering and moving the engine/trans package rearward, and i think i'm going to be able to get away with about an inch or so drop, and about 1.5" move rearward. i'll go two if it doesn't look like it'll pull the CV's out of the joints.

currently the steering arms are pointing upward from the rack at about a 3degree angle. i'll situate that better once i get the new struts in place with the new steering arms on the struts, which, now that i think about it, i might be able to swap the struts one side to the other to put the calipers in front of the rotors and not swap the lines etc on the 6piston calipers.

anyone know what the difference is between where the caliper sits as far as fore or aft the rotor?

oh, and i also had one other thought, since i'm doing so much new construction in the suspension department anyhow, what's the harm in moving my struts inward a half inch ;) the upper will be compensated in the camber plate installation, and the lowers in the construction of the lower control arm. some johnny joints look like they'll fit the bill nicely for my inner pivot points 8)

just by accident, i happened to look at a FS ad for some wheels on an A3.... turns out the commonly use 8" wheels with 45mm offset.... so i've got a few more wheels opened up to me there. problem is, there's only a few in 17" :bashtard: most are 18's and 19's on tirerack.

A3 uses a different PCD, unless we are doing some drillings???
Might be important to let the person making your custom hats know about this different PCD issue :slap:
