Whoa that thing sure sound good now. A huge thanks and most of the credit goes to Derek for all his hard work and skill that it took to make such a great sounding(and looking) exhaust. Totally worth working through the night to past 5 in the AM to get it done. Aaron, thanks for making such a great video while you were down in Mehico, that is some fine editing you did and i'm sure it took some time to do it.

The exhaust sounds so much better in the flesh. Worth the work put into it and I'll be looking forward to building my own just like it some day :)

Car left Oregon at about 1030 friday morning so it will be waiting for me when I fly back to Cali on monday. First on the agenda will be to lower it down from "tow mode" height back to "Daily driver" height so it handles a little better. Being raised all the way up has the toe all funky so it drives horribly at the moment. Then I get to do outer CV boots on the front axles and clean up the grease mess thats been collecting over the last half year and then throw it back up on the alignment rack at work and set it up again. Then I'll move on to hooking up the elecronic exhaust cutout. Then maybe if i feel like it Ill try to get around to figuring out some of the electrical gremlins.

Man, that sounds good. I love how the the revs just rip through the range.

However, I have a hard time imagining Derek driving a B5 V6.

Thats the plan. I'm thinkin canyon run with the cut out closed and then with it open. It sounds so much better now because it doesnt snarl on deceleration anymore like it used to, it was horrible sounding. Now its just the occasional pop on decel, but thats pretty much normal.

Ok, so now my thread is on here and I can continue to update. You all are probably aware of the issue i've been having where my ECU shuts off/restarts after 30 minutes of driving. After disabling the steppers i drove the car and the issue seemed fixed but yesterday i took the car out for a photoshoot and the issue showed its ugly face again so its not the steppers. When I get a chance i'm gonna pull the back cover off the ECU and have a looksie inside just to see if i can find anything viseably wrong.

Pulling it apart is pretty easy. At first it's like... wut. But then once you start turning the rear plate and making sure it's all going together, it's pretty easy. And it's really pretty freaking simple once you get it apart too. Not like the two-boarded Motronic ECUs, just one board, top and bottom. And a bunch of glue. Good luck!

Last but not least, today I mailed my VEMS ECU to Marc so he can have a go with diagnosing it. He is pretty sure thats is a bad/damaged stepper chip thats causing the issues. So, if all goes well I should have a running car again in a few weeks.

Lol, I second that... I think. Those photos are great, action shot in mehico is a great capture of motion.

Makes me want a bbk badly. Wish I didn't have to swap suspension stuff.

LOL, thanks guys. I dont know if i'd describe my car as "horny", but to each their own. Think I may go work on the beast a little. It needs another wash and i want to raise it about an inch all around so it doesnt rub tires anymore in the rear. I had lowered it a bit for the photo shoot and could acutally go another inch lower if the tires woldnt rub.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the last pic from the shoot makes an awesome background.
