Hank (Shavedquattro) has one of those and running his GT30R on it. Before he installed it he reinforced all the welds on the inside along both flanges. I would have someone do that for you if you can't DIY. Other than that, it seems like a nice piece and looks good.

good tip! thanks, I'll see what I can do

that header is slightly different from the header I use, but it looks like the same quality. If you do not brace the wastegate better, you will get cracks on the collector. IT is too much weight on that wastegate, especially if you plan on using the Audi gate. the weld on the top of the turbo inlet flange also is prone to cracking if the header is not braced.
This is mine

All the flanges are not even close to being flat. THe head flange is probably 1/4" out or better. They all needed to be milled flat. I would really recoment ditching the audi wastegate flange and going tial. The Turbo inlet flange is not threaded which is a real pissoff. I cut mine off and ordered a stainless flange from Javad, and just welded it on.
So that is the bad news. The good news is that the runners are pretty robust, and the head flange has not given me any problems. The best news is that the I am making a buttload of power with the header...
Unless you have access to welders and mills, it may be costprohibitive to fix these headers. You could easily get a 200 dollar machining bill, and another 150 dollar welding bill, which makes it a 600 dollar header all of a sudden.

yep, cost me about $200 to gets the flanges milled down on my homemade header. Which put me well over $600 to build mine. Shoulda bought one

gotcha - yea I plan on bracing it and getting rid of the triple K flange. I'll give the tial some thought, but the stocker should work just fine for 350-400whp, right?
Good news on my part is that I do have access to a TIG and some nice milling machines and good friends who will either guide me through it or at least let me watch.
I'd rather do it myself though :-D

The stock gate will work just fine. I recomend the tial because it is half the size, half the weight, half the bolts to have to get through... And the best part is that you are able to get stainless flanges for 10 dollars vs the audi SS flanges that are spendy. Springs are readily availible in 2psi increments, nad the diaphrams do not rip or have problems.
I am going to run this turbo for a year or so and then put a 35r on the URQ.. At that point I want to make a new header from scratch. Less work, and a lot more fun.

So being away from home for at least 4 weeks at a time is a terrible thing for my wallet.....and another 200 20v with a V8 front bumper for inspiration

This is definitely going to be verrry nice.
You and I are going to have the hawtest 200's in the US
So you went with ground control...would you mind elaborating on suspension details? I really need a clear plan.
Also, how do you plan on achieving proper rolling diameter with the staggered wheels? Just run same width tire on all 4 wheels? like 255's all around or something? I need to know so I can order up my RS's for good.
oh and sorry if I missed it or something...but what turbo is that?

I'll PM you the details of the GC coil kit. As for rolling diameter, search google for a rolling diameter tire calculator and you should find a neato thingydoober that will give you the rolling diameter for a given tire size. Then just plug in tire sizes till you get a staggered set that is within 4% front to rear.

Ok, small update - got my bilsteins in so I finished with the rear coil over setup. I also began the fight to fit the wheels.
Yes they are stretched like mad, no I don't care if you hate it :-)
I'll hopefully get the front end taken care of tomorrow and lowered down 8)

Oh man...they look great. Can't wait to see it all done!
What are the wheel and tire sizes again?
I'm still just waiting on adapters to get mine on.

Sizes are: 18x8.5 with a 215-40 and a 18x10.5 with a 225-40. Offset is ET20

FIDDLE STICKING CRAP!! Rear calipers are expensive for this thing!
Anyway, got them covered up and looking much more presentable - going to go over the AP logo with some black paint after ample curing time
