Just a mid pipe away from hearing how this AEB sounds through that stebro exhaust!
For the moment...my new springs should be here on Tuesday so then I can finally button the suspension updalspaugh wrote:Looks good!
It also looks like you are still running original springs?
Are you running B3 4cyl?rs4tech wrote:For the moment...my new springs should be here on Tuesday so then I can finally button the suspension updalspaugh wrote:Looks good!

Hopefully! Either that or I'll be whipping up a pair of B4 coil over housing quick. Luckily I have everything.rs4tech wrote:For the moment...my new springs should be here on Tuesday so then I can finally button the suspension updalspaugh wrote:Looks good!

I ordered b&g springs for the 90q...I will see how the ride height looks and decide if I need to make an adjustment to my spring choice.dalspaugh wrote:Are you running B3 4cyl?rs4tech wrote:For the moment...my new springs should be here on Tuesday so then I can finally button the suspension updalspaugh wrote:Looks good!

I followed that build...it was part of the inspiration for me to do my build. Hopefully I will be driving it next weekend once I have all the suspension done.ChrisAudi80 wrote:I had the same swap done last year, too! http://theprojectpad.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1145
Good work, man.
Why, thank you.RS4Tech wrote:I followed that build...it was part of the inspiration for me to do my build. Hopefully I will be driving it next weekend once I have all the suspension done.ChrisAudi80 wrote:I had the same swap done last year, too! http://theprojectpad.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1145
Good work, man.
That was another source of my inspiration....especially in the quattro conversionChrisAudi80 wrote:Why, thank you.RS4Tech wrote:I followed that build...it was part of the inspiration for me to do my build. I was inspired in turn by NiTeCs B4 Avant Q conversion.
Curious about this as I'll be doing the same soon. A neighbour of mine said the driveshaft in his truck was out of alignment a tiny bit and vibrated... I'm thinking that's just an out of balance driveshaft. What were the things you took into consideration to get the driveshaft/supports in properly?RS4Tech wrote:...Finally I welded up my driveshaft support and got the car moving under its own power...
I leveled the front part of the driveshaft like factory, and I designed the mounts with adjustment to it can be properly aligned side to side to eliminate vibrations. There is actually a factory procedure to align the driveshaft and it will cause vibrations if not.All_Euro wrote:Curious about this as I'll be doing the same soon. Cool build BTW - should be a light, peppy ride with the frankenturbo and I like how the wiring is being sorted so things will all work as they should
Good idea to allow for adjustments. This factory procedure would be helpful to know...RS4Tech wrote:I leveled the front part of the driveshaft like factory, and I designed the mounts with adjustment to it can be properly aligned side to side to eliminate vibrations. Wow, that sounds really good. I have driven a friends B5 with a frankenturbo on his AEB. It is surprisingly fast and very smooth, so I'm hoping for at least as much in my lighter B4 and a better flowing exhaust/larger intercooler than his car.ChrisAudi80 wrote:Just FYI: My car weighed in at 1400kg with about 80liters of E85 and those heavy leather seats.
With 250chp it will be a lot of fun. I have 4.111 final drive, so it accelerates quite well.
3200rpm at 120kmh.
The B4 sport has a short ratio rack from factory. jorgan is company that rebuilds them.PRY4SNO wrote:Love the progress so far. I definitely appreciate you approach to the build.
I'm interested in more info on your "B4 sport short ratio steering rack from Morgen Automotive," regarding: price, turns to lock, and availability.
Thanks!
$337 shipped to my door including core charge, bit they are running low on core stock so unless you have a core they are hesitant to sell them. Luckily both of my B4's came with sport racks as cores. They are 2.6 turns lock to lock opposed to the standard 3.2 turnsPRY4SNO wrote:Nice. Always thought it was just the RS2 rack.
How much for a rebuild w/ core charge?
