Want to sell your spare lens to an oceanic blue brother?

There are several appraoches to a build. If you are talking a build while still in school, I would say take an appraoch that is focused and reasonable.

400 hp is attainable with a stock motor and the GT3071 seems to be the prefered turbo to reach that goal. I recommend getting the 20vt on the road and driving and then work on adding hp. Driving the car is a great reward, especially when you are still young. Some of these builds can take years by tryng to do everything perfectally.

Yeah, builds taking a long time is nothing new to me, being that I have done several old ones with my dad, like a 1957 International A120 truck, couple of gmcs, chevs and the like. I do agree getting the motor in first would be a major achievement at this point, so I think that is a really good idea, it is discouraging seeing it sit out their all the time with no real progress, even though it feels like I am throwing money at it right and left haha. Anyways, I am like always open to suggestion, and opinions. Thanks everyone!

Just a little tiny update...

I am still working on getting my replacement lense for the pass side, but in the mean time I have been working up a projector set up, I hope it works out ok. I didn't destroy the original reflectors just in case I didn't like the look, but I am thinking it will come together ok...

Image

Also started my batt. relocation

Image

and while I was at it decided to work on cleaning up the interior some... I still need to work on these old old stains...

I really thought about it, but they cost a lot more and I got these ones on the cheap. If I find a set later on down the road, i might go bi-xenon.

SOOOO I bought a new DD car:

1991 Honda Prelude 4WS SI it's a pretty interesting car. A tad rice, but not to bad. The interior is in great condition and what not. A kid owned it along the way and did a crap job of a stereo install, so I have been reverseing that, and taking care of some other odds and ends it has. The 4WS for those who don't know preludes means it has four wheel steering which is pretty sweet. This one has also been lowered about 1.5 to 2 inches I am thinking. I parked next to a non SI and mine made it look like a 4x4. haha. Here are a couple of pics for viewing pleasure...

*The POS is now sold! I now hate honda*

Anyways, Back to business.

I FINALLY got my headlight lense from Deutschland and guess what.... wrong one. I recieved a CUBIE rather than the HELLA I needded. Also I never truelly appreciated the differences between the two intill now, and wow .... i don't like them... :bashtard: It makes the front look way to square in my opinion. But I did go on ahead and install them because I needed somkind of encouragement. (Sorry now pics yet) I ordered these bastards in january and I am still having issues. Anyways, he just got in a set of NOS replacement lenses he is going to sell me on the cheap so that is good. I also have been working on the interior some more. I think I will be done with the carpet cleaning after one more shampoo. Anyways, sorry for the wordy update. I need to spend more time on the car and less on my butt.

... on a side note... I promise not to crazy on the honda. I like it but it is no 4kq... :-D

WTG on the Prelude:D If me mem is correct I think the 88-91 Si have a carbon fiber piston sleeves too. Crazy Honda...

The first gen mech style 4ws is the best way to go.

The post 92-96 electro sucked and are costly to fix. I only fix one while working at the dealer the reast of the 20 or so I just locked them cuz the customer didn't want to pay for a new unit.

If you need any help with the Prelude PM me, I still have access to Honda's Tech site and phone line. :D

oh FYI. When you adjust valves be careful not to pop the rocker out, no biggy if you do, its just kinda hard to shove back in. Also all Preludes valve adjustment are very temperamental meaning 1/8 of a turn to tight or to loose and it runs like shit. Trust me I made a living working these cars. Last the 4WS was ment to help with parking and lane change as I recall the Honda Proformance Video stated. Beaware that in the slick the car may not act the way you want. I had fun learning that.

Just cahnge the oil and coolant and it should treat you right. ;)

ok, so just a little update. I have been gathering parts for my 20vt swap. I still am engineless and I need to be finding a 3B soon. I have pretty much finished my bat relocation and what not too so in the mean time i have been playing a bit with the brakes and suspention. I have a couple of questions about running EBC rotors and pads rather than upgrading to big reds. I really want to do porsche upgrade but I was wondering if anyone has had good expierence with the EBC stuff and how it compairs to the porsche stuff.

No pics either because I managed to drop my digi cam in the ocean last time I was there :bashtard: so pics will come as soon as I get a new camera.

How is the beam pattern behind that fluted glass? I've gone back and forth over adding projectors to my lights a few times. Have you aimed the lights at a wall yet and looked? Sharp cutoffs?

Finally a real update and boy does it feel good! SO my AAN ships out today from Oklahoma so that's good news. I have made major headway with getting the engine pulled and now I am preping it to recieve to donor. I still have a long list of parts to pick up, all to happen soonish. I know my thread is at a snails pace. I hope to make more signifigant progress as to make it more interesting for me and you guys! Anyways here are some pics for some entertainment I hope!

Painted up my 7A vc (thank you Derek for the vc!)

Image

Pulled the engine (boring and painful) and used redneck engineering to make up a POS body roll around (crappy cell phone pic to boot):

My retarded mess :bashtard: :

Now I go clean up ( I also removed a bunch of the pics off earlier posts). I am sick of needing to scroll so much. haha

Ok so I picked up a Turbosmart diverter valve from a buddy for 20 bucks. :-D He originally bought it for his eclipse but ended up buying a bigger T-smart one. Opinions/thoughts on the piece? Has anyone here used one before? Also I am slightly unclear as to if an AAN uses a BOV or Diverter valve. Also what are some of the advantages or disadvanages to each one?
