Looks tidy, but aren't the OEM pumps designed to be submerged for cooling?

You're probably thinking of a coupe quattro, which uses an in-tank pump and is seemingly what 95% of B3 enthusiasts own. Dave and I are the freaky-outlier sedan owners.

Haha
I have a b3 20v and a b4 2.8

And my coupé that it all started with.
And I'm still learning the little differences!

Yeah I've never owned a CQ but my understanding is the rear bits like suspension and fuel tank are similar to the B4. The setup in the sedans is almost identical to the B2 with the fuel tank behind the back seat, and pump under the car.

coupe suspension is the same as sedan, but the coupe has a fuel tank in the truck with a submerged pump. sedan has the external pump.

I may have to purchase and build said frozen merchandise, but I doubt I'll be sharing them here...
Spent some time working on the bandit yesterday. Not much to show for it except a bunch of wires stretched the length of the car. I was able to remove many of the unneeded wired from the MS3X harness(dont worry Eric, I left 2 extra inputs and outputs in there) but I may need to add another depending on where the CEL gets its output from.
I did get the CPS installed though. Looks pretty good in there.

I have to order the depinning tool for the other harness, so hopefully next weekend I can get it thined out and installed.

Sorry no pics this time. Fuel pump is in and wired, car is back on its wheels, and harnesses are thinner out ready to be routed. I also mounted the Saab relay/fuse panel under the hood. Hopefully next weekend I can get more of the wiring sorted.

Again, lack of pics. I made and installed a firewall bulkhead for the main power cable. I didn't like the chances of a grommet failing, then the cable shorting out to the body. What sucked was I had to pull the heater box to gain access to where I needed to drill the firewall. For this, I now have a very short cable going from the bulkhead to the distribution block. Should work very nicely, and keep all aspects of the power cable away from the MS harnesses.
I also got the MS harnesses routed from the cabin to the engine bay. Now the the fun part of routing the harnesses and making everything look good...

Thanks Dan. You know how it is, 1 step forward, sometimes means 2 steps back. I'm running out of time for wiring though, if I want to make it to Carlisle.

Once again, 2 steps back and then back to where I was. I ended up having to pull the harness back out from the car. This time I attached the shielded cables for the crank trigger, cam signal, and 2 knock sensors. These cables are ready to plug into their respective sensors. It wasn't easy, but got them cut to length, and connected up. Once they were prepped with heat shrink, they were installed back into the old AC line separator and into the body gromet. Here are a couple pics, nothing much to look at though.

Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to get the MS harnesses squared away and who knows, maybe I'll be able to get the rest of the wiring done too...

Wires are the worst. I'd take replacing an engine over an engine harness any day...

The worst part of it was redoing things over and over. Not to mention the fact that the next day I realized that I hooked up the shielded cable for the distributor wrong. Good news is it will be an easy fix.

I just don't have the patience for it. When it's all in and working correctly it's great! It's just getting to that point that is a real PITA...

How's the MS experience so far? I was talking to elaw in PMs for a bit about a setup, but I haven't yet made up my mind whether to head down the MS or VEMS route.

It really depends on what you want. I like how flexible MS is. I'm not very good with tuning, so having someone to help is necessary for me. The nice part with MS is you can make it as simple, or as complex as you want. My MS3X system is pretty simple compared to what it can do. I honestly have close to the same amount cost wise as the VEMS econoseal, but I could have had to do a whole lot more than it does. Had I purchased it originally as a MS3X, I could have saved some money.
I guess im trying to say, I would go this route again.

Today I feel like I made some real progress! The PS is now pretty much done! The harness is setup, wrapped and connected. I also installed the fuel rail to add to the progress. Knowing that the injectors and rail are back in makes me really want to get pushing on it. Tomorrow I will be back at it! Hopefully get the DS done. Then it will be down to the new power system, and getting the megasquirt wiring integrated back into the chassis harness... FUN!
Oh... I also got the heater box installed, and the Megasquirt mounted to the bottom of it!
And here are a couple picks I took before packing up for the day. Not great, and hard to see the harness being black, but you get the idea.

Hopefully more to report tomorrow.

Almost forgot, I also installed the Heater box, and mounted the MS on it again.

The MS harness is now pretty much done. I need to run the wiring that goes back into the cabin, but that's only 4 wires. I am also making up a separate power harness to run to the 2 disconnects I have in the bay for the this purpose.
No pics this time, as there is nothing to see... But that was kind of the point.

Well, this couldn't have happened at a worse time. I just got out of the hospital from an appendectomy. Now I'm laid up for a week. They got it out before it perforated, but I'm still left with 3 nice slices, and a good bit of pain. I'm really going to have to push next weekend to get it back together and running.
