You guys think I can make a diminutive 20v idle on 1100's? The ev14 850's seem like they'll have enough headroom for a 20v. The ev14 1000's will flow to 1280 at only 4 bar though...
My goal is staying below driveline-breaking HP levels even after the 20v swap...

Saturated 1000cc injectors will.

They idle like a dream on a 20v, so I can't imagine they'd be much different on a 20v of similar displacement.

So the car looks just like this again:
Except its been apart further and on its way back together. I had to remove the snub mount to allow me to jack up the engine to allow me to remove the wastegate to allow me to pull the header/turbo assembly to allow me access to the demon stud.
Once there was room I ran a bottoming tap into the hole and replaced the stud. There were a few others that had backed out a thread or two so I tightened them up and started throwing stuff back into place. I got up to the point where I'd wrestle with the intake manifold but during disassembly I found one of those allen bolts to be missing. Of course they aren't like the spares in the stash, they are the longer ones as part of the phenolic spacer kit.
Hopefully a trip down to McFadden-Dale will reward me with a comparable piece (and maybe some locking washers).
Unless something really crazy happens in this next week, I'll be pointing this guppy towards Colorado as planned.

Looks like bust...
Unless I find someone with a good used or 034 silicone 20vt michelin man hose.
It needs to ship today (saturday) or I won't get it soon enough to finish and tune the car prior to leaving for Colorado.

I may have one to send out today. I'll go check.
That damn hose will not be the reason you can't go.

I already looked through my boxes of 20v stuff and on the 200 in the side yard. I think we pretty much went through all of our stash when we were both running type44s. I figured for sure I could find something, but struck out. :(

Nothing here. Looks like my last one is north of the border.
There is a 90 200 at the local PnP. Not sure what's left/condition.

No MM hose, but I have a bunch of adapters and hump hoses. Mostly 2.5" or 2.25". Give me a ring if I can help cobble something together.

Got the car buttoned up today. Spent over two hours on ONE intake bolt...
In the process of checkin all the systems I found that the IIc was not supplying the fuel pump relay a signal. Something went awry when Hank and I were tuning last time. The breaker blew twice and then the next time I drove the car the FP needed to be jumpered. I readjusted the fuel pressure back down to about 43 and figured I could get the car out of the garage and back over to the shop. It was bucking pretty hard - as we'd expect after nearly doubling the size of the injectors. I got about a third of the way to the shop and during a routine up-shift, the throttle pedal dropped to the floor. Hoping it had come loose at the throttle body I popped open the hood to find everything in order, car idling innocently enough. Climb under the dash, only light I had was my phone, the daggum pedal bushing disintegrated - AGAIN. I just replaced them after the last trip to Colorado for UrQ 25.
Some would say Im being dramatic (Hank), but others may think there is some force that is really trying to keep me from attending this friggin Pikes Peak ordeal... This was the absolute first time the car left me stranded. AAA had a tow truck out in 26 minutes, he hauled me to the shop, no charge (4.2 miles). That was one of the higher points of my weekend, I paid for 8 years of Triple-A and I just finally got me a free tow!
I have to start hunting down the part numbers for the upgraded VW throttle bushing. I replaced mine with the normal Audi piece - which was probably just as old as the original - maybe why it only lasted about 4,000 miles...

Sean: OK, its @#$%ing DONE Hank: Nice! Sean: Now lets get tuning Iroz Hank: Im on the Strip
WHATTTTTT?!?!?!
Anyway, Hank made it back over to the shop and we made some good progress with a tune last night. There is still room for some improvement on drivability but our show stopper for the night was when we started tuning under load I got a pretty bad breakup when getting north of 15psi. We are starting with a new set of plugs sometime today and hoping for the best.
It is very rare I am on the strip, but the crab and prime rib was calling my name! I was lured in

THAT sounds nice. Lovin' the massaged 20v music. I need a 20v soundtrack with 20V performance.

Well, Im all checked in for my flight.
Fact is, I am stuck here at work today when I really need to be sorting out the ign cut which starts at 12-15psi. One cylinder drops out. I changed plugs yesterday and that helped, but now there is a very pronounced single-cylinder miss on load.
Im running the Ford 4.6L coils and have three spares, I'll try and get two more locally at lunch today to save time with possibly having to go under the hood twice. Cars don't cool down very quickly in our 108° temps...
If things fall into place and the missfire is gone, I'll saddle up and head to the hills with the Iroz boys sometime late tonight.
If not, I'll get on the plane in the morning and see y'all there. *dons flame suit*
*I still have to put an inline switch to the FP so I can put the back seat in. The GPO died for the fuel pump and Im not tearing apart the interior at this stage of the game.
*I never came up with an exhaust solution, so I'll be making the trip with the 20v singing it's 3800RPM song at 80MPH. I actually envy whoever is behind me and gets to hear it lol

Better idea: if it doesn't work out with your car, fly to salt lake, pick up my coupe, take it to marc, get it tuned and bring it back to me!

Oh sure, NOW you tease me with that ;o]
Of course if I knew that was an option, I woulda never turned a wrench on the UrQ...
