Ya know I think I neglected to mention I added 1.5 degrees timing from 4500 to 7500 rpm for 240 to 275 kpa. That's seems to have overcome any sluggishness I had attributed to running the w/m. Much quicker than having a powerband of 2500 rpm with the k24. It seemed in good shape after removal though

I just found out that my stiffer 110 BPV is open during idle. Guess I'll switch in the 034 one to see if that does too with its new seals

It's not bad tho. Had to cut off the snub mount lol. I need to rethink the snub mount in general and left some meat on it so I can still anchor it somehow. Been trimming extraneous shit off the OE crossmember and I'm just gonna flip it upside down and reuse it

How well will it work for me to use my large hole saw set to cut 4 holes in the bumper to expose more of the core? This bumper looks like dick already with the 4 new dents in it from the guy at country fair who also assaulted me. MAY AZ WELL CUT HER MICK!

Definitely cut the bumper if you don't care about it.

What did you have to modify? You should only have to flip the crossmember around to get it to fit. My much wider core only required that, although I've never run a snub mount on that car. It's not needed.

I actually have a very perfect 87 5000 bumper skin in storage
I cut off the snub mount bracket for cleanliness and the wide end tanks made it so I had to cut away part of the cross piece that the hood release stuff mounts too. In the previous shots, the IC is actually a couple inches lower that it will be in the end

I'm pretty sure my core is the same height as yours because its a 9" core with probably the same height end tanks... It fits, but BARELY. Then again, yours gets to it's full height in a different location than mine does. Mine is at full height by the hood latch.

Oh very nice. Not so lucky here lol. These entanks have broad shoulders haha. I received the meth nozzle bung and the sh#tty IC piping kit. They say JDM all over Bahaha! I'll just scratch it off with my nails. I guess it's not the other ebay place I asked about. They didn't have it in black tho.. my one 2.5 to 2" elbow for the IC inlet got delayed an hour away tho :(

I should probably also mention that I still have the stock engine mounts. I have replacements but when I looked at them they looked pretty nice.

It's in and plumbed. I drove 3 blocks away to park and get food. Drove home and felt the bottom end tank that's basically touching the aux rad. It was heating up from the rad for sure. Admit defeat or forget about it lol? I'm sure the very few if any that are looking at this are saying "always something!"

I never thought about that on mine. I wouldn't worry too much about it but I kept mine because I lived in FL at the time. Not really needed up north I guess.

Thanks but here's an anecdote that speaks to the horrors of the project. The whole time I was working on it I was whistling the most catchy portion of "rain drops falling on my head" which I heard during the work day on am oldies station. I just couldn't shake it no matter how painful it was to hear that same 15 seconds of it over and over for 4 hrs. It's was tramatic. Today another equally catchy song will haunt me after work.

I'm thinking I will got the $160 HPR route and do both motor mounts soon. I'll figure out how to keep movement to a minimal for now tho.

Alright this is gonna be so ghetto (sorry to anyone in the ghetto). I'm gonna drill through the cross member inline with the past snub location and thread about large bolt into the center of it. I'll do the same on the snub on the alternator bracket and connect them with a HOSE CLAMP lol. Wow it might work. I'll add pull ties for stability.

Turned out incredibly stealth ( well except for the giant holes in the bumper). Nice and cool to the touch in 85 F weather

Seriously though, you have trans mounts too to help with driveline movement. The snub is just useless if you have at least one good mount in the system lol

And don't worry too much about the clt vs ign table. It isn't critical. Old versions of vems didn't even have it and they work fine.

I changed the idea of how to link it. To save on space I would use a piece of 1/8 inch sheet metal instead. I have leftovers from my days in college practicing on the plasma cutter. Its sure gonna be rigid
