Those exhaust evac valves suck, they barely flow and never pull a vacuum. I have measured....

A properly built catch can is all you need. The breather on the yellow car is still dry at the outlet.

a little fumes is all the rabbit gets. it is -12AN of VC and -12AN off block.

this catch can is just something i thought up. it CAN be replicated. if i had dimensions, etc, i am sure the guy who made mine would make a couple more. he does this type work as his side work from home. he has his own little workshop.

its design is posted back a few pages.... but basically, a baffle plate directs gases downward, and the filters sit above said plate. the plate is not connected to back wall, and has drip holes drilled into it.

it even has a block drain-back port. i think it will work out just awesome really. next step would be dry sump....

the breather on the rabbit never sees oil yet, its clean, and not much of anything has even drained out of it.

That just makes me think of what a good investment a welder and some good time on one would be.

gotta love the minimal points for boost leaks. how does one v-band, and two couplers sound??? one single boost pipe. 3.5" OD. simplicity, i love it.

Very nice.

Wrap that exhaust manifold to keep all the energy in it and not lost in your engine bay. Heat in your manifold = energy to spool your monster turbo.

oh i plan on it. i have to take it off first :D after i fit everything to it...

so i have some detailed pix of the turbo mount, and some couple shots of the manifold... dual wastegates, open dump tubes separate from each other.... true twin-scroll manifold setup.

Interesting indeed. Having the flange attatched to the frame rail like that seems sketchy for whatever reason, but I am sure it is going to be fine.. I mean, the thing is solid mounted, but no thermal expansion is going to even have a glimmer of hope.

Looks flowalishous for sure though!!!! :woowoo:

honestly, its such a minimal effect that the added weight of the wrap probably offsets the quicker spool time.

Thermodynamics at its finest.

i understand the thoughts..... really. but the motor is solid, the trans is solid. the guys who built it for me, they do this. their shop car is a 66 nova that runs 7 sec 1/4 on DR's and is street driven. its badass.... 100mm turbo? yeah they got one on a small block.

5" exhaust. they run a motor plate style mount, solid as can be. and the turbo has the same type of solid mount.

worked on skirts. mounted, dont really like the way they need to mount but whatever. it is what it is. they have to mount that way. but its a race car so it dont matter.

paint dont match. the new batch of paint has more red/blue tinting to it than original. since i have plenty to do the car in the new color, that is what it will be. i like the color anyways.... primed the quarters. taped out lights/wing. shitsack bailed on the painting of it this weekend. crappiest part about it was it was his idea and his plan. douche anyhow.

worked on fueling. mounted cell. bracket for pumps. short one fitting (go figure).

made front tow rings/tie down loops, what you want to call them.

i just cant get over how good this looks... really. also, i wasted alot of time on lame household stuff, like weedeating the side of the house (getting deep in my steel yard LOL) drain/refill pond (it needed it, didnt know i have 7 fish :o ) and basically did lots of thinking on the car stuff.

got radiator chosen, ordering it tonight. designing the coolant reservoir. i like building stuff. also welded some aluminum. getting good :) welded the tabs onto the fuel cell.

not so cheap, but not bad considering some of the others i was looking at. it has the 1.25 in/out ports i want to use. the other has 1.5 in and 1.75 out. yes, you will think it has ports on the wrong side.
