Is this project too ugly to update the signature? lol
Any chance it has to do with the carbon canister? Or is that just for fuel tank vapours? If so I'd look at the exhaust, manifold back.

A long overdue update here as well.
The Golf was getting ready to be traded in so I put forth some effort into correcting some of the Avant's list of issues as it will be my permanent daily machine for the following 4-5 months until the S3 arrives. I picked up a used set of H&R Sport springs just for some aesthetics. Once I got it pulled apart I found that it was in desperate need of front lower control arms, tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, front pads/rotors as well as rear upper control arms (tie rods). So I ordered all of that up and went to town. Now she's nice and stable. Still on stock shocks so handling isn't as good as I'd like but it rides like stock. I'll eventually drop some Bilstein's in or something but I didn't want to drop any more cash than I had to on it. Lowering was very modest but enough to look OEM+.
Also, I got the same neat production data for the Avant:
For VIN WAUHE5448MN019710 there were 133 1991 Audi 200 Quattro WGN 20V vehicles sold in the United States. Of those, 25 were produced in pearl white metallic exterior and 13 of those featured graphite leather interior sold in the US.
Pics for fun:

Yes and just because it would just be awesome. I wouldn't be able to stop laughing if I saw this ripping it with about 800 awhp!

Seconded! If I weren't so attached to my car in particular, I'd rather have a wagon to build. It'd be fast and practical - and no one would ever suspect it!

Sooooo, I went a little crazy last night and some things will be happening with the Avant...
Ordered:
VEMS PnP
VEMS display
VEMS 3B custom coil harness for 2.0T coils
2.0T FSI coils x5
Scat Rods
034 rod bearings
ARP head studs
Victor Reinz top/bottom gasket kits
This will be in preparation for one of the up and coming Iroz EFR 6758 kits. I believe I'll be one of the first to have this, maybe a beta tester of sorts.

Sweet! Another "Built" Type44 build on the way. I can't wait to how this one turns out. Just as a "heads up" on your Iroz/EFR kit, make sure you take the dimensions into consideration. I have close to 3 grand in exhaust manifolds and still can't run an air filter on my car. I know you were asking about a set of E-code headlights which is one of the first and most common upgrades for type 44's I would hate to see you in the position I am in. Before having my Iroz Exhaust manifold made, I shipped my European headlights to be bolted up to the car to help in the measurements and fabrication of my manifold. Since my car is there and the buckets are there, it makes for a good convenient fixture at Iroz for measuring future developmental parts.

Can't wait to get started on this. Need the S3 to arrive before I can tear into it though.
I'll install VEMS ASAP though
