Wow. Housings are deceiving. The .63 is a Garrett housing machined for k26 specs. The .82 is a turbonetics looks to be a k26 machined for garrett specs. The garrett .63 is WAY larger than the turbonetics. But when I do "the ol' jam three fingers in'r test" I can go farther in the turbonetics. Clearly not conclusive but it eased my mind a bit on the matter as I was starting to have my doubts. The garrett unit is clearly stamped as .63. No stamps on the turbonetics. You can even tell from the pictures that the Garrett is bigger outside.

Lastly, any tips for removing a hotside while turbo is in car? It's stuck dang it. I currently have it soaking in penetrating fluid. Might leave it like that for a few days. All bolts are loose but it won't free easily, I haven't tried a rubber hammer yet. The problem is that it's just floating there on it's lines, it's not attached to the manifold anymore.

Double post of the 3 finger test, lol.

Heat the hotside up and it should slide off easier.

Yeah, just get a torch and point it down the scroll of the turbo for a couple of minutes. with a pb blaster or equivalent, it should come off relatively easy. Be careful, as turbines are fairly fragile

Oh lord.
- 4 2.5" helper springs (to pick up the slack in my coilovers when fully unloaded)
- 4 2.5" spring coupler/spacers (go between coilover springs and helpers)
- 4 strut mounts
- two control arm kits (all 4 corners)
- density diff mount
- alu subframe bushings
- swaybar mount, end, and control arm bushings
- front and rear driver's side handles + gaskets (china ebay!)
I hope the rear dif mount isn't going to be a pain as I know there can be some variance there... crossing my fingers. That was kind of sickeningly expensive but I will feel WAY better knowing that everything has been done. Git'r done, right? Carlisle's coming soon, EEEEEEEEEEE

Oh and I got my plate registered for the car. It's officially 4FOXSN8X now. Woop.
I really hope this turbo is actually .8~ ish A/R. It looks exactly like a kkk. And I was just looking at Scuba's thread, housing looks nearly identical. Iduno. Gotta just trust my measurements I guess! I guess I'm just concerned because while they're both for the same hotside wheel, but not the same manufacturer.
Hm. Just found this:
http://www.broadfootracing.com/performance_parts.htmThey say 10cm2 are .82a/r housings. SO maybe we're doing okay here... lol.
Time for warm weather.

I think I'm going to do my brakes at the same time. Re-drill my rotors and have custom brackets made, done. Seems so much easier than sourcing six thousand different parts to go 5x112 and having to ditch my coilovers.

It's going to be great with the suspension all nice and new and tight! I've been reading your hotside musings and calculations, and I'm interested in what you find. FWIW the aftermarket KKK housing I had that was setup for a T3 center was BIG, not sure if it was a K26 or K27 flange footprint but it fit stock manifolds and the casting was definitely quite a bit different looking than the OEM housing.
Better get it rolling right, Carlisle is just around the corner

WRC kindly reminded me of the side diff mounts. Two track density added!

Tbh I didn't even look into them. The track density mounts were only 26 bucks.

And the 911 can be had for around $30.. and much, much better design.

Shucks. Ah well too late now. Tracking says my huge 034 order will be here tomorrow, but I kinda don't believe it since it shipped late yesterday. I have to get the turbo back together so I can drive the car up to the hoist anyway!

Well, seeing as how it's -34 right now I'm not working outside today. I'm gonna head to the shop with Maddex and put the turbo back together and drive the car up onto the hoist. Baby steps

Fuck. Hotside doesn't fit. Got a refund and am shipping it back today. That blows because I have 0 dollars to spend on this car for the foreseeable future. Literally not even the $200 difference in housings since I need to buy a new one now as mine had been sold and shipped out. Must have been for a T04E

OOOF, heard back from 2Bennett: $1100 for rotors and brackets. I'd REALLY like some specs on their rotors because I'm sure I can source some. That aren't $800. I could swallow ... I dunno, LESS for brackets but man, $1100 for a brake kit when I supply half the kit seems steep.
In other news... I'm pretty stumped on what to do about the hotside. I guess I can just pray I find a used one by Carlisle... or go NA

I'm trying to, but also trying to use my stock strut housings since they've already been coilover'd. I don't think that's gonna happen

The parts from A1 Racing to put sleeves and perches on a new set of 2-pc struts are like $125 shipped if you already have springs and top hats. Cheap enough to make converting a no brainer considering all of the other benefits that the later beefier stuff gets you.

aren't the perches the same for all 2.5" ID springs? so its jstu 4 threaded sleeves with a different ID/strut side diameter, threaded outer should be the same so keep the same perches
