The Red Baron has earned the "Mustang GT DESTROYER" medal tonight!!! Im thinking my cut issue is related to the fuel injectors to be honest. Im gonna test this weekend and flow match and check for leaks. It would make sense that that would be the problem considering the cut didnt start till AFTER I relayed the pump. Im still gonna check fuel pressure when driving too.

Ive been getting a knock code recently any time I get on it. I got 92octane in the tank (have had 92 since the swap), and as far as I can tell no leaks, but I haven't checked around yet. What is the general cause of knock codes on these motors? Only happens under quick short bursts

Not sure. Havent had time to deal with it. Starter quit working, threw a new one in, turned out to be a friggen wire. Now I got a new $90 starter. Whatever starts faster now.

Then discovered this morning that the t-belt damn near shredded itself somehow. It has less than 5000 miles!!!!! So now I got to fix that tomorrow or saturday. Great and its snowing. Guess Ill just go take the ass hauling pickup to work tomorow. Hopefully I dont die in Spokompton traffic.

Dude that sucks. Did you over-tighten it by chance?

If you figure out what shreaded the belt you will have to let us know. Kind of strange to have one go out that fast.

I honestly think I over tightened it. I always felt it was just a tad too much. That and I may have gouged it with a flathead at one time. Dont know how or why, but possible

It's really easy to over-tighten this T-belt set up, that's for sure! I always go by the 90 degrees of deflection rule.

You would have really heard the belt if you over tightened it. They will "warble" (the water pump at least since it acts as the tensioner). Look all around the bottom to see if a bolt happened to sneak down there and chew the belt up.

x2 Ya they do whine when you over tighten.

I think I did hear a whine to be honest, but I thought I was hearing something else. It would flex 90 degrees but it always felt a little too stiff. IDK, all I know is I gotta fix it tonight. Was planning on skiing tomorrow but have a feeling thats changed. Timing belt used to be a 1-hour job. Now I have a feeling its gonna be like a 2 hour job with that damn intercooler in the way of the crank pulley

You may have damaged the water pump too if the belt was that tight.

Hope not...

I dont think so. I watched the pump and it spins normally with no weird movements

Good, as long as it feels tight. Just didn't want to see you overlook it :)

Looks like IAT decided to die. Soon as the car goes into boost the CEL lights up. Throwing a 2322 for intake temp sensor. Yay.

Im really thinking I want a late model 90 quattro as my next project. Fully loaded, leather, power everything, etc. All I would want to do with it is a 3B swap and leave everything else factory. Maybe lower it but that would be it with a possible exception of a 5-lug swap. If anyone knows of one for cheap with a blown engine or w/e but awesome shape interior, let me know. Not looking to repeat the balls to the wall 4000 rebuild lol.

No not at all. I just want something a little nicer and more modern for a DD. Not having heated seats in the winter sucks lol. After all this work, Id like this to be a toy now. Itll be my Winter toy, the truck for Summer. I want another diesel caddy too.
