Tacos 4KTQ I0vt Swap: The Red Baron - buying parts again

If you are reading this message, there's a good chance you haven't been through this before so here goes: The build thread is full of pictures, how tos, banter, back stabbing, 20v hating, bs, more bs, and overall some good laughs. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me on here.

Soooooooooooo, I figured it was time to start the build thread. I started collecting parts for this back in November, which was when I decided to start doing the Turbo swap because I was sick and tired of my car being slower than shit. My Hot Rod pickup has been down for 1 year now due to a blown transmission, so the most logical thing to do was start sinking all my money into a turbo motor for my DD

Here is what I'm using:

Stock, unmolested 135k mile MC1 out of an '86 5000cs Turbo Quattro
I'm hoping to be in the 250+hp range when I'm done. Kinda pisses me off because I'm thinking it's going to be faster then my Hot Rod Dakota R/T. :bullshits:
Here is a video of me in my truck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrDgbu5I ... zVLW7nGhUZ

Here is the intercooler setup I'm using. My buddy picked it up off of a 1.8t jetta that came into his yard for $25.....he gave it to me for $30. Needless to say, I owe him a big freaking pizza.

BTW, anyone know what kind of intercooler this is anyways? I figured it was some factory setup, but he informed me otherwise.

haha, exact opposite here. Try about 30 degrees and freezing rain coming and going lol. Thank god there was no wind or I'd have quit half way through lol

yeah I'm excited, although the project is now about 95% on hold due to the fact that I just dropped $1600 on the transmission and torque converter for my Dodge

5 lug swap?

Yes sir. Depending on how everything goes, I may do the 5-lug swap before the actual engine swap.

Did some port work today on the intake manifold

Left side is next. Right side after port work.

Ports were cleaned up a little better after this picture.

Do you still need ARP head studs? I have an extra set I'd sell, brand new.

Also have a set of 2B tie rods, but they are for 4K struts ( the tapered pin is smaller, you'd need different ends for 5K struts)

Just thought I'd mention it.

That'll be a fun car, I have a CIS 20vt 1.8bar stock K24 and it runs pretty damn strong for what it is.
