Nice! Too bad you are 3k miles away. Would love to see this animal in person. Any chance you plan to do anything on this coast?

Vittorio and I have chatted about an audi face off... but its not in the budget anytime soon. If you wanna snag some safety gear and sit in the silly seat, fly on out. Only rule-NO PUKING.
in other news she finally revs to 7k. fueling is getting better and better. I've added some timing here and there but its really unhappy around 4k, and doesn't like much more than 15* in that area. Now that I have it close gonna see if Mr Swanson can work some magic. Puked the alternator belt tonight while testing... gotta see what thats all about.

Wow - KILLER build!
Most of the time it's just some pitting on the pulley my car kept puking belts until I gave it some 300 grit smoothing and rubbed it down with some "las llaves" or what we would call bar of soap for clothes

check that your pulleys are in alignment. You can usually check from underneith with a straight edge. A bit of misalignment will chuck belts. The alternator slides on a big roll pin and there are usually some shims behind the pulley you can mess with to get it just right. This is super important to keep that stupid belt on at high rpm.

I'm thinking I just didn't have it tight dana. I've had the alternator in and out several times this last week sorting out a charging issue. Straight edge looks pretty good. (cough to get it in there)

Now for anyone who cares to read:
We had a great time this weekend in spite of multiple issues and ultimately a mechanical DNF. Both the codriver and I forgot camera's so no in car this go round. We severely overheated the car on the transit to the third stage due to whet I believe was a blown headgasket that pressurized the cooling system blowing the freeze plug out of the back of the head. Time to yank her out and review.
Learned a lot being my first rally, and has very much adjusted my goals and expectations for the car and myself. The car was a blast on stage, even down on power it was fun and handled much better than I expected it to. The suspension soaked up everything we threw at it the first couple stages and was confidence inspiring to say the least. There was one corner I approached rather tentatively and the car plowed towards the outside as a reward for me being a wuss. Looking forward to repairing the motor and playing at the upcoming Maryhill and Bogus Hillclimbs this August and Sept.
And lastly a little video of it not running well at all, but hey its got an audi in it!

I don't have anything to add, but I'd like to say that this looks like a ton of fun! Awesome car! Here's to hoping your next run goes smoothly!
