3B vs. AAN into urq.

hey guys starting a new project, by far the coolest of any I've done.
Going to be doing a 20v swap into an 83 UR Quattro.
The car is going to be on it's way to me in a week or so, so yes I'm jumping the gun but I can't stop obsessing about it.
P.O. did a swap from '83 to '84 fusebox and was not able to get the car to start anymore. At this point he stopped troubleshooting the C.I.S. because he was going to swap to a 3B anyways. My plan is to see if i can trace the wiring bug and get it running with the CIS, if not the swap starts sooner than planned.
So mapping out my build I have a few goals drivetrain wise.
1) 350-400 HP wheel
2) Beefed up trans, 6 Spd 01E?
3) Custom intake manifold or 3B style to facilitate the maximum cooling possible out of the side mount rad. This is due to my issues I was having with my 90 Coupe.
4) Custom engine harness, VEMS ECU
I have a spare AAN engine in my shop that needs rebuilt. I also have a 3B coming with the car that is in the same condition. both are longblocks.
Considering I want to be able to fit the biggest radiator I can over there, this tells me I either want a 3B intake or custom single or dual plenum with the forward facing inlet. So, the 3B is probably the easiest swap, but I could consider doing the 3B block, or aan block with the AAN head on it as well. I think either block is perfectly fine with the power goals I have. IIRC the AAN without the distributor would be a better set-up, This project will call for a custom engine harness and VEMS tuning so while I have the chance I want to ditch the distributor, right?
What I'm looking to do is figure out which engine block and head to start working towards rebuilding and wanted to see if anyone has any input.
